SAFETY
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
– When using a chain saw, only one person may work at the saw buck.
– To ensure stability, the saw buck must only be used on a flat and solid hori-
zontal surface. Otherwise there is a risk of the saw buck tipping over.
– The safety regulations of the machine manufacturers are binding. Failure to
follow the operating instructions for the machines can be life-endangering.
– Use only approved machines.
– Unplug all electric chainsaws before carrying out maintenance work or when
not in use.
– Before starting work, check that the saw buck, machines and tools are opera-
tional and correctly assembled (e.g. threaded connections).
– Never work with damaged or blunt tools.
– Secure the wood with the stop bar before sawing it. Working without the stop
bar is not permitted.
– Make sure that your footing is secure when using a machine.
– Only use machines and tools for their actual intended purpose in accordance
with the operating instructions.
– Do not make any technical modifications to the saw buck.
– Never remove installed safety equipment.
– Make sure that your clothes are close fitting (particularly sleeves) and protect
your hair. Tie up long hair.
– Always wear personal protective equipment, such as an approved protective
helmet, safety goggles or visor, hearing protection, (woodworking) gloves,
safety trousers and safety footwear, when working.
– Never reach into machines that are in operation.
– Keep children away from your work area and store your machines and tools
securely.
– Keep other people away from your work area while sawing.
– Never allow inexperienced people to use your machines and tools without in-
struction or supervision.
– When sawing, always maintain adequate clearance between the chainsaw
blade and the steel elements of the saw buck.
– Always work to plan and in a concentrated way.
– The two wooden boards keep the saw buck stable and protect the chainsaw
from making contact with the ground. If the saw buck is no longer stable, for
example because the wooden boards have been damaged by cuts, etc., the
wooden boards must be replaced with genuine wolfcraft® spare parts.
– Only use genuine wolfcraft® spare parts.
– To protect the wooden boards from the elements, you can apply a wood stain
to them before the first use. Reapply the protective stain once a year.
