The igniter button may fail to igniter your burners. In this case,
the first step should be to replace the AA battery. Remove the
igniter button cover, remove the old battery, insert a fresh one,
and try to light your grill.
If the battery is corroded or the igniter still will not spark after a
replacement, follow these steps to manually light the burners and
continue use of your griddle:
1.
Confirm the gas cylinder has been connected properly, the valve
is closed, and there are no leaks. If not, do a leak check.
2.
Set the Control Knob of the unit to the "O" position. (A)
3.
Open the griddle lid. (B)
4.
Open the gas cylinder valve to allow gas flow. (C)
5.
Quickly and carefully, use a lit match secured with the lighting
rod to light a burner. Gain access to the burners from beneath
the griddle surface. Position the lit match near the side of the
burner (D). Do not attempt to light another area of the
burner. This can cause injury.
NOTE: Do not use spirit, lighter-fluid or kerosene for light-
ing or refreshing a fire in your grill.
6.
Cautiously, push and turn the Control Knob counter-clockwise to
the "
" to light one burner (E). After the burner has caught fire,
observe the burner flame. Make sure all burner ports are lit and
flame coloring is good.
If ignition does not occur within 5 seconds, turn the Control
Knob to the "O" position, wait 5 minutes to allow any accu-
mulated gas to dissipate, then repeat the Manual Lighting
instructions. Each burner lights independently - repeat
same steps for the other burner.
7.
After the burners have caught fire, allow the griddle to preheat,
then add your food!
WARNING: Do not lean over the griddle while lighting your gas
burners. Keep your face and body a safe distance (at least 914 mm
/ 36 inches) from the cooking surface when lighting your burn-
ers by match.
