Installation
Due to the size and weight of the printer, the UltiMaker Factor 4 is considered non-portable.
Do not attempt to carry the printer, but use proper means to install this product, such as a
forklift or similar device. Do not tilt the machine to avoid the printer falling over.
1.
Raise the UltiMaker Factor 4 including the pallet to the height of the installation surface.
2.
With at least two people, slide the UltiMaker Factor 4 backward off the pallet and onto the
surface.
3.
Rotate the printer's adjustable feet so that the printer stands perfectly level.

Before powering on the printer, install several of the accessories from the starter kit. Open the
build chamber door to get started.

Turn on the printer using the power switch at the back. Complete the installation according to the
welcome setup on the display. After selecting your preferred language, the printer will guide you
through the steps:

If you have not already set up your Digital Factory workspace, create a new account.
You can load more materials after completing the welcome setup.
Start a print
1.
Start UltiMaker Cura and sign in to your account to sync to your UltiMaker Factor 4.
If your printer is not connected to the internet, select the UltiMaker Factor 4 from the list of
non-networked printers in UltiMaker Cura.
2.
Load a 3D model in UltiMaker Cura and slice it with your preferred configuration and profile.
3.
Send the print to the UltiMaker Factor 4 by selecting the Print via Cloud button.
Alternatively, you can start a print from a USB stick.
4.
When the print has finished and the build plate has cooled, take the flexible build plate out
of the printer.
5.
Carefully bend the plate to remove the print. Remove any support structures.
6.
Place the flexible build plate back into the printer to start the next print job.
Do not open the build chamber door during printing. Never reach inside the printer while it is
in operation, and always allow the printer to cool down sufficiently before opening the door
and removing the build plate.
