Unit protection
This unit is protected electronically against
overloading. But do not trigger the main
switch during welding.
The device is cooled by means of a fan. In
case the cooling is insufficient, the electro-
nic components may overheat and get con-
sequently damaged.
Take care for free access in the area of
the ventilation slots.
Do not put any objects through the venti-
lation slots. You may damage the fan.
Never weld if the fan is out of order. Call
the service to repair the device.
Do not use fuses of higher amperage than
printed on the identification plate.
Connect the workpiece with the ground-
cable to the machine.
To transport the device, carry it with the
strap in horizontal position.
Duty cycle (ED)
The duty cycle (ED) is based on a working
cycle of 10 minutes. Consequently ED 60%
means a welding time of 6 minutes. After
that period the device shall cool down for
4 minutes.
Provided that you exceed the duty cycle ED,
the build-in thermal control switches off the
unit. As soon as the device has sufficiently
cooled down, it is switched on automatically
6
Emission of sound
The sound level of the unit is smaller as 70
db (A) measured at standard load confor-
ming EN 60974 at the max. workpoint.

Ambient conditions
Temperature range of ambient air:
in operation:
...
+104 °F)
Transport
and storage:
-25 °C ... +55 °C (-13 °F ...
Relative humidity:
up to 50 % at 40 °C (104 °F)
up to 90 % at 20 °C (68 °F)
Operation, storage and transport
may only be carries out within the
ranges indicated! Use outside of
this range is considered not used
with its intended purpose. The ma-
nufacturer is not liable for dama-
ges cause by misuse.
Ambient air must be free of dust, acids, cor-
rosive gases or other damaging substan-
ces!

UVV(regulation for preventi-
on of accidents) inspection
Depending on the operation, users of
commercially operated welding systems
are obliged to have safety inspections of
the equipment carried out regularly in ac-
cordance with EN 60974-4. Lorch recom-
mends inspection periods of 12 months.
A safety inspection must also be carried out
after alterations or repair of the system.
! Caution ! : Improperly carried out
UVV inspections can destroy the
system.
For more information on UVV ins-
pections of welding systems, ple-
ase contact your authorized Lorch
service center.
