START UP INSTRUCTIONS
3.1
PUMP PRIMING
CAUTION
•
Before starting up, the pump must be primed with water. The water cools and lubricates the
mechanical seal.
•
With the pump on load, it is not necessary to prime it. The pump works on load if the pool
water level is above the pump axis, although due to pressure losses and flow valves, it is rec-
ommended that at least there be an available height of 1.5 meters. from the axis to the pool
water level.
•
With the pump in suction, you must remove the side bleed plug from the pump and proceed
to fill it until making sure that the entire suction circuit is full of water as shown in the drawing.
You can also prime the pump through the prefilter, if you have one.
3.2
AXIS TURNING DIRECTION
CAUTION
•
During the first connection, you must pay special attention to the direction of rotation of the
motor. Continued reverse rotation may damage the mechanical seal. For correct connection,
start the engine for a few seconds and check that the direction of rotation is as indicated on
the arrow located on the fan cover.
3.3
MOTOR LOCK
CAUTION
•
If the pump has been stopped for a long period of time, the motor may be slightly seized. Make
sure the motor shaft rotates freely. If the motor is stuck, try to free it by exerting reasonable
force through the fan. Do not start if blocked.
