(Original instructions)
Charging the battery (fig. B)
The battery needs to be charged before first use and
whenever it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs that were
easily done before. The battery may become warm while
charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 10 °C or above 40 °C. Recommended charging
temperature: approx. 24 °C.
Note: The charger will not charge a battery if the cell
temperature is below approximately 10 °C or above
40 °C. The battery should be left in the charger and the
charger will begin to charge automatically when the cell
temperature warms up or cools down.
To charge the battery (10), insert it into the charger (12).
u
The battery will only fit into the charger in one way. Do
not force. Be sure that the battery is fully seated in the
charger.
Plug in the charger and switch on at the mains.
u
The charging indicator (23) will blink.
The charge is complete when the charging indicator (23)
switches to continuously on. The charger and the battery can
be left connected indefinetely. The LED will switch on as the
charger occasionally tops up the battery charge.
Charge discharged batteries within 1 week. Battery life will
u
be greatly diminished if stored in a discharged state.
Leaving the battery in the charger
The charger and battery pack can be left connected with the
LED glowing indefinitely. The charger will keep the battery
pack fresh and fully charged.
Installing and removing the saw chain
(fig. C–E, G)
Always wear protective gloves when installing
or removing the saw chain (8). The saw chain is
sharp and can cut you when it is not running.
Place the tool on a firm and stable surface.
u
Loosen the two Allen screws (14) using the Allen key (21)
u
provided. Remove the Allen screws (14).
Remove the chain cover assembly (6).
u
Turn the chain tension adjustment screw (7) counter
u
clockwise to allow the guide bar (9) to recede and to
reduce the tension on the saw chain (8).
Remove the old saw chain (8) from the sprocket (15) and
u
the guide bar (9).
Place the new saw chain (8) in the groove of the guide bar
u
(9) and around the sprocket (15). Make sure that the teeth
are facing the correct direction by matching the arrow
on the saw chain (8) with the arrow on the chain cover
assembly (6).
