Entering the security code
Once the correct security code has been entered, access is no longer protected.
If you want to protect the settings again, you need to re-enter a security code. This can
either be the same code as before or a new one.
How to enter the security code:
1. Access the Settings menu and then the Code menu.
The first figure to be entered is underlined.
2. Press the Edit button to select the highlighted figure.
3. Press the arrow keys to enter the correct value.
4. Press the Edit button to confirm the value.
5. Press the left arrow key in order to move to the next figure.
6. Enter the correct value of the selected figure.
7. Repeat this procedure for the remaining figures.
8. Press the right arrow key in order to confirm the code selection.
9. Press the left arrow key in order to use the code.
If the Faulty pop-up display appears, the code entered was incorrect.

Restoring factory settings

Dangerous system operating states from incorrect AF1 settings
Restoring the factory settings deactivates the switch outputs. This can have an impact on
downstream system functions and may result in personal injury or damage to equipment.
O
Do not make any improper changes to the AF1 during operation. Note that the factory
settings become immediately effective!
O
Activate the security code in order to prevent accidental or unauthorized changes to the
settings (see "Activating the security code").
How to restore the factory settings:
1. Access the Settings menu and then the Factory Settings menu.
2. Press the Edit button to select the factory settings.
3. Press the left arrow key in order to reactivate the factory settings.
– or –
Press the right arrow key to cancel the action.
Once the factory settings have been restored, you must reconfigure the device
completely.

Commissioning and Operation

If no entry is made for longer than 15 s, the display will return to display mode.
Unconfirmed settings will not be taken over.
Before commissioning the system, the following steps must have been carried out and
completed:
W
You have fully assembled and connected the AF1.
W
You have carried out the required presettings and configuration.
If the security code is activated, no settings may be
modified.
All menus and functions are only freely available once the
correct code has been entered.
The Set? display appears.
WARNING
You can reset the configuration of the device to the factory
settings.
In doing so, all data and settings are deleted at the same
time.
The Set? display appears.
Dangerous system operating states from incorrect AF1 settings or if the maximum/
minimum operating voltage for the AF1 is exceeded
Danger of injury and system damage from uncontrolled system operating states.
O
Do not make any improper changes to the AF1 during operation. Note that any settings
become immediately effective when they are confirmed!
O
Exchange faulty flow rate sensors immediately!
O
Do not disconnect the AF1 from the voltage source during operation!
To commission the AF1:
1. Apply the operating voltage.
2. Pressurize the system component the AF1 is connected to.
The AF1 does not have a main switch. Once you have connected the device to the power
pack and this has been connected to the mains, the AF1 is turned on and ready for use.
To turn it off, simply disconnect the power pack from the power supply.

Service and Repairs

The device is maintenance-free.
Only use water and, if necessary, a mild cleaning agent for cleaning.

10 Disassembly and Exchange

Disassembling the AF1
System is under high pressure
Danger of injury and system damage from uncontrolled system operating states.
O
Make sure that the system component the AF1 is installed in is not under pressure or
voltage before beginning disassembly.
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Loosen and remove all connections.
3. Loosen the AF1 from the pressure connection using an open end wrench (thread connection)
or pull the AF1 straight out of the push-in fitting.
