Activating/deactivating the backlight
How to set the display backlight:
1. Access the Display menu and then the Backlight menu.
2. Using the arrow keys, select the desired option On, Off or Auto.
3. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
The selected option is displayed in the top right of the screen in square brackets.
Displaying the pressure
How to set the pressure display:
1. Access the Display menu and then the Pressure menu.
2. Using the arrow keys, select the desired option On or Off.
3. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
The selected option is displayed in the top right of the screen in square brackets.
Selecting the unit
How to select the reading unit to be shown:
1. Access the Display menu and then the Unit menu.
2. Using the arrow keys, select the desired option l/s, l/min, l/h, m
3. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
The selected option is displayed in the top right of the screen in square brackets.
Configuring the digital outputs
If you select the OFF option in the Actuator submenu, the output will be deactivated.
Dangerous system operating states from incorrect AF1 settings
Danger of injury and system damage from uncontrolled system operating states

Align the settings made with the technical data of the AF1 as well as with the
requirements for the system parameters.
O
Do not make any improper changes to the AF1 during operation. Note that any settings
become immediately effective when the Edit button is pressed!
O
Immediately exchange a defective AF1!
O
Do not disconnect the AF1 from the voltage source during operation!
O
Activate the security code in order to prevent accidental or unauthorized changes to the
settings (see "Activating the security code").
The configuration of the switch outputs can be seen in the standard display in the fields in the top

right and middle of the display (

There are three options available for the display backlight:
On – Backlight is turned on
Off – Backlight is turned off
Auto – Backlight is turned on at the first press of a button
and automatically switches off after 20 seconds.
There are two options available to show pressure in the
display:
On – Pressure display is turned on
Off – Pressure display is turned off
When the pressure display is turned off, the field at the
bottom left of the display remains empty.
The following options are available for the units used to
show readings in the display:
l/s, l/s, l/min, l/h, m3/h, or gal/h

/h, or gal/h.
You can determine the switch behavior and trigger for
each of the two switch outputs.
Once the trigger has been selected, you need to determine
the threshold value at which the output changes its state.

How to configure digital output 1 on the AF1:
1. Access the Settings menu and then the Output menu.
2. Access OUT_1 in order to configure output 1.
3. Access the Type menu.
4. Using the arrow keys, select the desired option NPN or PNP.
5. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
6. Press the right arrow key and then the Edit button to switch to the Actuator menu.
7. Use the arrow keys to select the desired option Flow, Volume, Pressure or Off.
8. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
9. Press the Edit button to select and access the highlighted figure.
10. Press the arrow keys to change the value.
11. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
12. Press the left arrow key in order to move to the next figure.
13. Change the value as desired.
14. Repeat this procedure for the remaining figures.
15. Press the right arrow key in order to confirm the threshold value selection.
16. Press the left arrow key in order to save the settings.

Press the right arrow key to cancel the action.
How to configure digital output 2 on the AF1:
You can configure switch output 2 in the same way as output 1. To do this, switch to the OUT_2
menu and enter the desired settings in the corresponding submenus.
Activating the security code
How to activate the security code:
1. Access the Display menu and then the Code menu.
The first figure to be entered is underlined.
2. Press the Edit button to select the highlighted figure.
3. Press the arrow keys to change the value.
4. Press the Edit button to confirm the value.
5. Press the left arrow key in order to move to the next figure.
6. Change the value of the selected figure as desired.
7. Repeat this procedure for the remaining figures.
8. Press the right arrow key in order to confirm the code selection.
9. Press the left arrow key in order to save the code.

Press the right arrow key to cancel the action.
The security code is valid immediately once it has been saved.
A padlock symbol appears in the top right of the display (
Once the actuator has been selected, the display
automatically switches to the display for setting the
threshold value. The first figure to be set is underlined.
The Set? display appears.
You can enter and activate a three-digit security code in
order to protect access to the device settings.
While the parameters and settings are always visible,
they can only be modified once the correct code has been
entered.
