Display
During normal operation, the display shows the following values and symbols:
1. Padlock symbol, visible when security code is activated
2. Sigma sign, visible when sigma function is activated
3. Switch output OUT 1, shows status and configuration
4. Switch output OUT 2, shows status and configuration
5. Pressure display, can be deactivated
6. Flow rate reading
7. Unit for reading
Operating basics
The AF1 has three buttons below the display which are used to operate the configuration menu,
select functions and values, and to change the display.

Used to switch to the main menu and the submenus,
as well as to confirm selected values.

In normal operation, the Edit button is used to access the menus from the
standard display.

In the basic settings, the first press of a button switches on the background light.
The display language is English and this cannot be changed.
Activated security code
If the security code is activated, you can select menus and view their settings, but you
cannot make any changes to these settings.
If the security code is activated, the padlock symbol will appear in the
top-left corner of the display.
In order to modify settings, you must first enter the correct code
(see "Entering the security code").
Once this is done, all menus and functions are freely available.
Configuration menu
Once the output power supply has been connected, you can configure the AF1 for operation. This
involves defining details concerning measuring units, the display and the outputs, among others.
You can then protect access to these settings by using a security code
(see "Activating the security code").
Menu structure

Menu display
On the display, the configuration menus show:
W
The name of the current menu at the top
W
Values or options in the middle
W
The active buttons or possible actions at the bottom.
Examples:
Selection and entries
The selected options and entered values are, generally speaking, immediately valid. In some
cases, you must confirm the entry by pressing a button, e.g. with the arrow keys or with the Edit
button when setting time periods.
Incorrect entries
If you have selected or entered an incorrect value, you do not have to delete it.

Select the function again and either enter a different value or select a different option.
Exiting menus
With the Exit function, you can exit a menu or submenu and switch to the next higher level:
1. When in the menu, press the right arrow key as often as required until the Exit function
appears.
2. Press the Edit button in order to reach a higher level or to return to the standard display.
If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the display automatically switches back to the
standard display with the current reading.

Entering Parameters
Display mode

Connect the AF1 to a suitable voltage source.
The device switches to display mode and shows the current flow rate, as well as the set flow
rate unit, in the bottom section.
By pressing the Edit button repeatedly, you can access the main menu and the submenus.
Activating the sigma function
How to set the time interval that all displays refer to:
1. Access the Sum menu and then the Values menu.
2. Use the arrow keys to select the desired sigma function.
3. Press the Edit button to confirm selection of the desired function. The display automatically
returns to the selection of Values.
4. Press the right arrow key to switch to the time period entry field.
5. Press the Edit button when the On function appears in order to set the periods in hours and
minutes (hh:mm).
6. Press the Edit button to select the highlighted figure.
7. Press the arrow keys to change the value.
8. Press the Edit button to confirm the value.
9. Press the left arrow key in order to move to the next figure.
10. Change the value of this figure as desired.
11. Repeat this procedure for the remaining figures.
12. Press the right arrow key in order to confirm the selection of the periods.
13. Press the left arrow key in order to save the settings
– or –
Press the right arrow key to cancel the action.
If the sigma function is activated, a sigma symbol appears in the top left of the display in

the standard mode (see
).
Deactivating the sigma function
How to deactivate the sigma function:
1. Access the Sum menu.
2. Select the Off function.
You can activate the following sigma functions to display
readings:
W
Sum in [l]
W
Maximum value in [l/min]
W
Average value in [l/min]
The first figure to be set is underlined.
The Set? display appears.
You can deactivate the sigma function at any time.
In this case, the display shows the current flow reading in
the selected unit
(see "Selecting the unit").
