6.5. ADVICES FOR SAVING ENERGY
• If the unit is left empty for long periods of time, it is recommended that it is disconnected and
after careful cleaning, leave the door ajar for the air to circulate in the cabinet and avoid
condensation, mold or smells.
• The unit should be installed in the coldest area of the room, away from appliances
that generate heat, and out of direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the unit is properly ventilated. Never obstruct the air outlets. Clean dust
and dirt off the condenser regularly.
• Open the door only when necessary, keeping it open as short a time as possible.
• Do not overfill the unit so that air can circulate properly.
• Unit shelves and storage bins should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper
toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the unit less efficient.
