Dry cell batteries
Battery replacement
The dry ceil batteries need replacement when:
tape speed slows down, volume decreases. sound distorts, or the
reverse function falls to operate.
When replacing the batteries
Wher the battery case is removed from the main unit, the back-up
function is activated in order to keep the clock and radio presets in
memory. The duration of this back-up is about 6
utes from the time
the battery case ts removed when the display o=
> lights up. Replace

Use the optional AC adaptor only. Playback 1s possible while the recharge-
able battery is being charged although it takes longer to charge than usual.
Notes on batteries
Rechargeable battery
¢ Use only the AIWA PB-S5 rechargeabie battery.
* Do not charge for more than 24 hours. Overcharging shortens battery

¢ The PB-S5 rechargeable battery can be recharged approximately 300
times
* Recharge soon atter the battery wears out
« When the rechargeable battery which has little power has been used or
has been left without use for a long period of time, it may not be
recharged enough.
Recharge tt for approximately 8 hours
When the CHARGE indicator of the charger stand does not light up or
lights up faintly after 8 hours of recharging, continue recharging up to
24 hours.
