Calibration
This product has been calibrated at the time of manufacture . If used according to the use
instructions, periodic calibration is not required . This device is not intended as a substitute for
regular check-ups by your doctor, please consult your doctor if you have any doubt about the
temperature reading .
Errors and troubleshooting

message with flashing up/down
arrow icon . The error message will
appear after start up and memory

Low battery
When 20% of battery life is left, the
display FLASHES the low battery
warning symbol, however, the device
can still work until the battery life has
0% left .
Dead battery indication
If the flashing battery icon is the only
symbol shown on the display, the
device cannot work .
Blank display
Thermometer does not have power .

Care and cleaning
Use an alcohol swab or cotton swab moistened with alcohol (70% Isopropyl) to clean the
thermometer casing and the measuring probe . Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the
thermometer . NEVER use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners or benzene for cleaning and NEVER
immerse the instrument in water or other cleaning liquids . Take care not to scratch the surface of
the lens by replacing the protective cap after use .

you will not be able to take a reading .

Replacing the batteries
The Sensian™ Swipe 5 thermometer comes with 2
AAA batteries .
To install the batteries, slide open the battery door as
shown . Insert 2 AAA batteries, correctly positioning
with positive "+" and negative "-" as shown . Replace
the battery door and close securely .
Replace the batteries when the flashing battery
symbol appears on the LCD screen . Dispose of
batteries according to local waste management directions .
Only discard empty batteries . They should not be disposed of in household waste, but at
appropriate collection sites or at your retailer .
2 Year Limited guarantee
Please read all instructions before attempting to use this device . Please retain the receipt as proof
of and date of purchase . The receipt must be presented when making any claim within the relevant
guarantee period . Any claim under the guarantee will not be valid without a proof of purchase .
Your device is guaranteed for Two Years (2 Years) from date of purchase . This guarantee covers
defects in materials or workmanship that occur under normal use; defective devices meeting these
criteria will be replaced free of charge .
The guarantee DOES NOT cover defects or damage resulting from abuse or failure to follow the
user instructions . The guarantee becomes void if the device is opened, tampered with, or used with
non-Braun branded parts or accessories, or if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons .

REF, LOT and Serial numbers of your product must be provided as they are essential to record and
follow up your inquiry or claim . The LOT and Serial numbers are located in the battery
compartment . The production date is given by the LOT number and can be deciphered as
explained below:
The first 3 numeric digits in the LOT number represent the day of the year of manufacture . The next
2 numeric digits represent the last two numbers of the calendar year of manufacture and the
letter(s) at the end designates the production site . (E .g .: LOT No .: 12313tav this product was made
on the day 123, year 2013 at production site "tav" .)
