Select the correct dimension and length for the
compressed air hose. For hose lengths up to 100
feet (30 meters), a hose with a minimum internal
diameter of
3
in. (19 mm) should be used. If the
4
hose length is between 100 and 330 feet (30 and
100 meters), a hose with a minimum internal
diameter of 1 in. (25 mm) should be used.
Methods to prevent freezing
Ice formation in the air motor can occur when the
ambient air temperature is 32-50 °F (0–10°C) and
the relative humidity is high.
Take the following action to further counteract the
risk of ice formation:
Use a water separator.
Lubrication
For problem-free operation, continuous lubrication
of the air motor is required. Before using and after
each eight hours service, remove oil plug and fill
reservoir with recommended oil, see below.

Grease
Use a high quality bearing grease recommended for
use in ball bearings.
NOTICE
Automotive water pump grease is
designed for use with hot water and is too hard for
use in a pump operating in cold liquids.
NOTICE
The venting hole (see section "Main
parts") must always be left open in order to secure
lubrication of the lower ball bearing.
Oiler adjustment
The oiler valve is factory set to deliver approximately
six ounces (180 g) of oil in each eight hours service.
Check the lubrication by holding a piece of clean
paper in front of the air exhaust while operating the
pump. After about five seconds traces of oil should
appear on the paper.
If readjustment is necessary, proceed as follows:

Safety and operating instructions
1)
Remove oil plug and drain all oil out of
reservoir.
Unscrew and remove four nuts with lock
2)
washers holding governor housing to motor
housing and remove governor housing.
3)
Remove oil filter washer from governor
housing and rotate oiler valve. Clockwise
rotation reduces flow. Counter clockwise
rotation increases flow.
Reassemble, refill and check the lubrication as
4)
described above.
NOTICE
The oiler valve may stick to the oiler valve
seat when the seat is screwed in. Check by inserting
a small pin through the hole in the seat. It should
be possible to feel the valve move against the oiler
valve spring.
NOTICE
Do not restrict flow entirely as lack of
lubrication will result in rapid pump failure.
Operation
WARNING
Involuntary start
Involuntary start of the machine may cause injury.
Keep your hands away from the start and stop
device until you are ready to start the machine.
Learn how the machine is switched off in the event
of an emergency.
Stop the machine immediately in all cases of
power supply interruption.
Preparations before starting
>
Blow the compressed air hose clean before
connecting it to the pump.
>
If the pump has not been in use for a longer
period of time, pour approximately 1
of oil directly into the air intake of the pump. This
will ensure good lubrication right from the start.
>
Check that the compressed air is free of water and
other impurities. Dry air is particularly important
when using a muffler, because a muffler increases
the risk of ice formation.
