If after inserting the battery into its designated
opening the light-emitting diode fl ashes instead
of glowing yellow continuously, the cause may
be a too high temperature, a defect, or the total
discharge of the battery.
• If the battery is too hot, the charging process
will start automatically after it cools down.
• If, on the other hand, the battery has a nor-
mal temperature but is totally discharged, the
charger will check if it still draws power or it
if is already defective.
• If the battery can be recovered, the yellow
light-emitting diode will glow continuously
after some time, signalling the successful
charging process.
• If the yellow light-emitting diode fl ashes, the
battery is defective and needs to be disposed
of; see also "Note on disposal within the EU"
later on in these instructions.
Working with the jig saw
WARNING!
Before any assembly, adjustment, mainte-
nance or repair, remove the battery from the
device to prevent inadvertent start-up!
Hold the device by its insulated grip areas
when carrying out work where the bits and
cutters could hit hidden power cables.
Contact with a live cable can energize metal
device parts and cause electric shock.
Attach and secure the work piece to a stable
base with clamps or by other means. Holding
the work piece only by hand or against your
body means it will remain unstable, which can
lead to loss of control.
Clamping or replacing the saw blade (Fig. 4)
Important!
When storing the bits and cutters, make sure
they are reliably protected from damage!
1. Loosen the clamping screw with the help of
the enclosed Allen key 1 as shown in Fig. 4.
- 14 -
2. Insert saw blade 2 into the slot of the saw
blade holder.
3. Retighten the clamping screw.
Please note:
The saw blade must be seated in the groove of
the support roller!
Making mitre cuts (Fig. 5):
To make mitre cuts, i.e. not vertical but angled
cuts, the saw table must be tilted.
Loosen the clamping screw with the help of the
Allen key 1.
Use the angle scale on the top of the table to tilt
the saw table to the desired mitre angle
Retighten the clamping screw.
Using the parallel limit stop (Fig. 6):
The parallel limit stop allows cuts to be made
that are parallel to the edge of a work piece at
a precisely defi ned distance.
1. Unscrew the clamping screws 1 until the
cross-section for the holder of the parallel
limit stop is exposed
2. Insert the parallel limit stop 2 into the ope-
nings provided. Make sure that the limit stop
is inserted from the correct side, depending
on the desired position of the saw cut!
3. Use the scale on the top of the stop rail to
set the desired distance of the saw cut. This
can be read off the outer edges of the holder
of the stop rail.
4. Tighten the clamping screws 1
Switching on the device
To switch on, operate the rotary button 10
(Fig. 1) and set the number of strokes to match
the material according to the task.
Some tips for working with the jig saw:
• The general formulas apply:
- Soft materials:
Saw blades with coarse teeth and
high number of strokes
- Hard materials:
