You can adjust the audio emphasis using
the following two functions:

You can adjust the sound by raising or
lowering the levels of specific frequency
ranges.
Before operation, first select the audio
emphasis you want for your basic sound.

The equalizer disappears from the
display but you can hear the effect of the
adjustments.

Note
If you choose another menu audio empha-
sis (other than "EFFECT OFF") the adjusted
sound effect is lost. To retain the adjusted
sound effect for future use, store it in a
personal file. (See "Making a Personal
Audio Emphasis File (personal file)".)

Activating the Sound Field
(surround effect)
You can adjust the surround effect. First
select from three types of programmed
surround effects according to the type of
software you have.

remote) repeatedly until your desired
surround effect appears in the display.

Press and hold down DSP for more than
a second and then turn the JOG dial to
choose the surround level you want. Or
press DSP LEVEL on the remote
repeatedly to choose the surround level
you want.
The display changes as follows:
LEVEL 0
LEVEL 3
Surround effect is stronger in the order
of LEVEL 0, LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2 and
LEVEL 3.
