The vacuuming material container must
be emptied, even after every use.
It is statutorily necessary to use a dust
collection bag (see "Control Elements"
for order number).
Do not use the appliance without the
complete filtering system.
You are not allowed to use an extension
cable.
During proper/ improper use, the parts
(such as exhaust opening) of the indus-
trial vacuum cleaner can tolerate a
maximum of 116°C.
Warning
Only use Category 1 accessories approved
by the manufacturer for use. The use of
other accessories can give rise to risk of ex-
plosion
Check the status of the ground strap, its
fasteners and its entire functioning be-
fore start-up and at regular intervals.
Vacuum only using all the filter ele-
ments; otherwise, the suction motor can
get damaged and this can be hazard-
ous to health on account of increased
release of fine dust particles!
According to the applicable regulations,
industrial vacuum cleaners (IS) of cate-
gory 1 are not suited for use on work
machines.
Appliances of category 1 are not suita-
ble for sucking in dusts or fluids with
high risk of explosion and mixtures of
combustible dust with fluids.
The applicable safety regulations for
the materials to be treated need to be
followed.
From a safety point of view, industrial
vacuum cleaners with protection
against dust explosions are not suitable
for sucking in substances that are ex-
plosive in nature, fluids and mixtures of
combustible dust with fluids according
to section 1 of the Explosives Act.

In Emergency
In case of emergency (while sucking in
combustible materials, when there is a
short-circuit or some other electrical de-
fect), switch off the appliance and remove
the plug from the socket.
Note
Additional regulations can be applicable to
dusts with an ignition capacity below 1mJ.
Bring the appliance to working position
- secure it, if required, with parking
brakes.
Insert the suction hose into the suction
hose connection.
Attach the desired accessoried to the
suction hose.
Ensure that the vacuum material con-
tainer has been inserted properly.
Warning
The maximum tolerable mains impedance
at the electrical contact point (see Techni-
cal Data) must not be exceeded.
Turn on/off switch to "1".
For IV 100/75 M B1 press 'Switch-on
appliance" button.
Warning
Avoid rolling up or bending the hose while
using the vacuum cleaner.
Monitoring the suction performance
The machine is equipped with a suction
power monitor. If the air speed in the suc-
tion hose falls below 20 m/s, the manome-
ter will display the following pressure
reading:
IV 100/40 M B1
IV 100/55 M B1
IV 100/75 M B1
Perform the following activities to regain the
prescribed air speed of more than 20 m/s:
Switch off IV 100/40 M B1 or IV 100/55
M B1 at the ON/OFF button.
