Problem
The portafilter cannot be removed
or pulled from the machine and all 3
leds keep blinking slowly for a
longer time.
The coffee is not strong enough or
too weak.
The machine is not brewing coffee
and leaks around the portafilter.
There is some ground coffee falling
out of the machine and onto the
drip tray.
Possible cause
The machine is trying to return to a
neutral position but is not able to do
so.
The Intensity boost button is not
selected.
The coffee bean type or roast is not
strong enough.
You are using the machine for the
first time or after switching to a
different bean type or roast. The
dosing system needs to adjust.
The portafilter is not emptied before
a new brew was started.
The brew was not started with an
empty portafilter. There was some
ground coffee left inside before
starting the grinding and brewing
process.

Solution
Unplug the machine, wait 15
seconds and plug the
machine back in. When
plugged back in, the machine
will try to solve the problem.
If this does not resolve the
issue, try to unplug the
machine, wait 15 seconds,
and plug the machine back in
one more time. If this does
not work, the machine needs
service. Contact the
Consumer Care Center in your
country.
After a drink recipe is
selected, you can press the
Intensity boost button to
switch this function on. With
the Intensity boost button
selected the drink will be
stronger.
Try a different bean type or
roast.
Brew one or two more cups
of coffee to optimize the
dosing system.
Always empty the portafilter
before you start a new brew.
Make sure there is no ground
coffee remaining in the
portafilter before you start
the grinding and brewing
process.
Remove the portafilter from
the machine. Empty and rinse
it under the tap. Always make
sure you start a new brew
with an empty portafilter.
If the portafilter is stuck,
move it back to the left and
then remove and empty it.
Remove the coffee grounds
that fall out with a dry cloth
and try to brew a new coffee.
