If you want the fan to hang lower, you must remove the hanging ball from the supplied 6
inch downrod for use with a longer rod (included). (If you wish to use the 6-inch downrod,
follow the steps below).
-
To remove the hanging ball, loosen the suspension ball fixing screw and remove the pin
and clip. Lower the hanging ball and remove the clevis pin. Slide the hanging ball off
the downrod, and slide it onto the longer rod (note that the top of the rod has a hole for
the fixing screw). Insert the stop pin into the top of the extended downrod and raise the
hanging ball. Make sure the clevis pin is aligned with the holes on the inside of the hanging
ball and tighten the set screw securely.
Tip: To prepare for passing the electrical wires through the rod, attach a small piece of electrical
tape to the ends of the electrical wires to hold them together when passing them through the
rod.
2.
Loosen the main-body attachment fixing bolts and nut at the top of the motor housing.
Remove the pin and rod clip (if you have not already done so). Slide the rod down through
the canopy.
