using ground coffee. This should also be
done if the appliance has not been used for
an extended period of time, and after
descaling.
General information
- The markings on the water gauge and/or
on the jug help you to measure the
amount of water needed to prepare the
required number of cups of coffee. If
your appliance comes with a double
graduation scale, the one on the left-hand
side corresponds to medium-sized cups
with a capacity of approx. 125 ml, the one
on the right-hand side to smaller-sized
coffee cups. Take care not to exceed the
indicated maximum number of cups.
Always switch off and allow the coffee
maker to cool down for about 5 minutes
before it is switched don again.
Warning! Be careful not to fill water into
the reservoir immediately after a brewing
cycle is complete as hot steam may
escape from the water nozzle.
To prepare filter coffee
- Filling the water reservoir
Grip the recess on the water reservoir and
lift it out. Open the reservoir, fill it with the
required amount of fresh cold water and
close the lid. Replace the reservoir in the
appliance and push it down to open the
valve in the bottom of the reservoir.
- Inserting the paper filter
Pull out the filter holder by its handle and
insert a paper filter size 1x4, first folding
down its perforated sides.
- Adding ground coffee
We recommend using fine ground filter
coffee, approximately 6 g = 1
medium-sized cup (125 ml). Take the filter
by its handle and replace it into the
appliance.
- Preparing the jug
Fit the aroma protection lid onto the carafe,
and then place the carafe into the appliance.
If correctly inserted, the lid will disable the
drip-stop mechanism in the filter holder
during the brewing cycle.
- Starting the filtering process
Plug in the appliance and switch on. The
indicator light integrated in the switch comes
on. The filtering process begins.
- Removing the jug
When the filtering process is complete, i.e.
all water has run through the filter holder
into the jug, remove the jug to serve the
coffee.
The flashing indicator light in the switch
shows that the keep-warm function is active.
The hotplate will keep the remaining coffee
in the glass jug warm as long as you leave it
switched on, or until the auto switch-off
function is activated after about 90 minutes.
Switch the appliance off after use. If the
hotplate is switched of by the auto switch-off
function, the indicator light in the switch
shows only a weak glow.
The heating element in the appliance is
automatically switched off after the brewing
cycle is complete; the indicator light in the
switch shows only a weak glow.
- Switching off the appliance
After use, switch off the appliance and
unplug from the mains supply socket.
Coffee maker with drip-through lid
During the filtering process and while
pouring the coffee out, the drip-through lid
does not need to be removed and should
remain on the jug. To pour the coffee, press
the lever on the lid down to open it, when
the coffee may now pass out through the
spout.

Therefore the jug should preferably be
