∙ Caution: Do not operate the appliance
when it is empty. Do not fi ll it with dry
items only, such as nuts, almonds etc.
∙ If some residue sticks to the smoothie
top's sidewalls, remove the top, shake it
and let it run through another brief pulse
cycle.
∙ Remove the plug from the wall socket
after use. Wait until the motor has come
to a complete standstill before removing
the smoothie top and unscrewing the
blade unit.
∙ Close the smoothie top with its lid.
Grinding top operation
∙ The grinding top is useful processing
spices, and for preparing pesto, dips and
purées.
∙ Cut the food to be processed into small
pieces and then put it into the grinding
top.
∙ Observe the maximum marking when
putting in the food. Do not overfi ll.
∙ Caution: Do not operate the appliance
when it is empty.
∙ Fit the blade unit in the grinding top and
turn it anti-clockwise all the way to lock it.
∙ Turn the grinding top over and fi t it to
the motor housing so that the two arrow
marks are aligned.
∙ Then turn it clockwise until it is heard
locking into place.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable outlet
and use the rotary control to select
the desired speed setting or the pulse
function (P).
∙ Remove the plug from the wall socket
after grinding. Wait until the motor has
come to a complete standstill before

removing the grinding top and the blade
unit.
Wind-up power cord storage
The power cord can be wound up for
storage on the underside of the unit. Unwind
it completely before operation.
Cleaning and care
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket before cleaning the appliance.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the motor housing or the power
cord with water and do not immerse them
in water. The motor housing may be
wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
∙ Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning
solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
Cleaning the blender jug or smoothie
top:
∙ For cleaning directly after use, fi ll the
blender jug (max 700 ml) or smoothie
top (max 400 ml) with warm water and
a little detergent. Let the appliance run
for a short period as described in the
section Operation. Afterwards, rinse the
attachment, blade unit, lids and stopper
with fresh water. All parts must me
thoroughly dried afterwards.
∙ The smoothie top and its lid can also be
cleaned in a dishwasher. All other parts
are not dishwasher-safe.
∙ If necessary, the sealing gasket on
the blender jug lid can be removed for
cleaning. Before the appliance is used
again, the gasket must be replaced.
