Therefore, solid waste should be separated and discarded properly. Recyclable waste materials should be recycled.
Blade
To remove the blade and make the required repairs, it is enough to fit the screw or star key into the fastening
screw and turn it counterclockwise [Fig. 23, Pag. 10].
Whenever there is a stronger impact of the blade with any obstacle, the blade must be removed and carefully
inspected. If required, change for a new one. In case of a strange noise in the engine, take the lawn mower to
a specialized Technical Assistance service.
A worn, unbalanced or blunt blade may cause damage to the engine. Use original Tramontina blades.
Sharpening the Blade
The blade can be sharpened using a file or an emery wheel.
Blade Balance
To check the blade balance, pass a rod through the middle hole in order to achieve the smallest possible gap. Rest
the rod ends on two supporting and leveled points: if the blade is imbalanced, the heavier side will slant.
To balance both sides, pass the heavier side on the portion opposed to the cutting edge on a grindstone or file and
recheck the balance [Fig. 24, Pag. 11].
When reassembling the parts, check for their proper position and ensure the blade holes fit the blade bracket
projections [Fig. 25, Pag. 11].
Cleaning
Avoid the lawn accumulation under of the mower. After use, clean the lawn mower with a brush or with a wet
cloth. Never pour water on the lawn mower.
This device should not be used by inexperienced or uninformed individuals (including children), unless they have
been instructed in its use or are being supervised by someone responsible for their safety. Keep children and pets
away from the trimmer when it is in operation.
Do not allow inexperienced people to use the lawn mower without reading the instruction manual before. Do
not allow children to use the lawn mower. The operator or user is liable for accidents or damage to third parties.
Before starting the cutting of the grass, remove from the ground, stones, stumps and other objects from terrain.
During the work, always use closed footwear and safety goggles. In steep places use non-skid footwear and
cut the grass transversally, never up or down. Also be very careful when changing direction. Avoid working
in places with a sharp incline. Be careful where you step especially on hillsides. Never run while using the
equipment.
Do not incline the equipment when switching the engine on. Only switch it on when your hands and feet are safely
away from the cutting assembly. Use protective gloves to change the blade.
Never work with the lawn mower under the rain or on wet grasses and always use during the day or with good
lighting.
Check the state of the grass catcher frequently. If you find it to be worn or deteriorating replace the components
to avoid risk. Make sure that the grass outlets are always clear.
Never use the lawn mower if the safety devices are not in perfect condition. Never operate the equipment if the
safety devices are damaged.
Regularly inspect the power cable. Never splice power cables. If the feeder cord is damaged it must be replaced by
an Authorized Technical Service or a qualified individual, in order to prevent the risk of electrical shocks.
For any maintenance, cleaning, transportation, storage and/or setting procedure switch the lawn mower's engine
off, unplug the power cable and wait for the blade to stop completely.
Pull the plug from the outlet whenever:
- you leave the equipment unattended;
- before cleaning the grass outlet;
- before checking, cleaning or carrying out any equipment maintenance;
