Balancing procedure
The unit always has a weight mode automatically
selected, refer to the display. Select the appropriate
key (1 - Fig.5-6) to scroll through the weight modes
continuously. The weight mode currently selected is
shown by the illuminated indicator(s).
NORMAL
Used for steel rims.
ALU mode
Used for light alloy rims or where one or more stick-
on weights are to be used.
The stick-on weight(s) must be applied by hand.
Hidden Weight Mode
Used for light alloy rims or for wheels that are
diffi cult to balance.
The stick-on weight(s) must be applied with the
gauge arm. This guarantees more accurate weight
positioning compared to applying the stick-on
weight(s) by hand.
Note:
If the stick-on weight must be hidden
behind two spokes, select the Split
Weight Mode before applying the weight
in the right plane. Refer to Chapter 5.9.1.
ALU P mode
Select the menu key (1, Fig. 5-6) to recall the required
ALU P weight positions (2P / 3P).
Note: Further to measurements for ALU P, the screen
does not show rim width value since it is not
important for balancing. In these cases symbol "- -"
is displayed.
STATIC Figure 5-7
This mode is used mainly for wheels of small
scooters or for vehicles where dynamic imbalances
have little effect.
A "left" or "right" weight is not calculated.
Note: The procedure requires in the following order;
Mount the wheel.
•
Acquire the dimensions.
•
Perform the measuring run.
•
Select the Weight Mode with the key
•
(12 - Fig.5-7).
When activated the angular position LEDs (A),
light up identically between the right and left tray
and the imbalance value is shown only on the left
display (B).
