3.2 AP602 amplified equalized noise generator

The AP602 is a unit formed by a white and pink noise generator, a 1/3 octave
band graphic equalizer and a power amplifier. The AP602 has been specially
designed to generate the signal that has to be reproduced by the BP012.
Thanks to its internal noise output and its external noise input the AP602 can
equalize and amplify the signal from an external generator or insert in the
reproduction chain supplementary signal processing equipments ( see 8 about
safety measures and advice).
The AP602 screen displays all the information necessary to control it: type of
noise reproduced, internal or external configuration, EQ on/off, playback status
play/stop, volume numerical and graphical information, graphic equalizer curve,
status information PROT (switching on and protection) and CLIP (stabilization
and signal clipping).
The forced ventilation cooling system of the AP602 is controlled by a
microprocessor that turns off the fan during 30 seconds after the signal
reproduction is stopped. This is efficient for the background noise measurements
or reverberation time measurements in places where there is not much noise.
The AP602 can carry out intermittent operation mode so that the equipment
emits noise for 20 seconds and automatically pauses the emission during the
next 20 seconds. This procedure is repeated until the stop key
The AP602 can work directly from its keyboard, by remote control or by a PC
with the included software. This communication with the PC can be done through
a cable or through internal Bluetooth

3.3 FP122 main characteristics

The FP122 is an omnidirectional sound source. Its main features are the
following:
Ideal tool for the sound insulation, reverberation time and sound absorption
measurements.
Radiation diagram completely omni-directional, according to ISO 140, ISO
10140, ISO 3382-1 and ISO 3382-2 standards.
The FP122 supplies 123 dB of sound power. The AP602 supplies the
necessary power to the BP012 to reach 123 dB PWL. The BP012 can support
the maximum power during an hour.
The AP602 generates white and pink noise and also band limited pink
between 50 Hz and 5 kHz.
The AP602 features a 1/3 octave band graphic equalizer from 50 Hz to 5 kHz
to shape the spectrum emitted in the room by the BP012 (level differences not
exceeding 6 dB).
The AP602 has intermittent operation mode to facilitate the realization of the
measurements of the background noise measurements interspersed with
reception measurements.
