G
Do not operate the mixer and immediately discon-
nect the power supply unit from the socket
1. if the mixer, the power supply unit or the mains
cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.
G
A damaged mains cable of the power supply unit
must be replaced by skilled personnel only.
G
Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the units are used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if they are not cor-
rectly connected or operated, or if they are not
repaired in an expert way.
G
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac -
cordance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
If the units are to be put out of operation de -
finitively, take them to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.

Applications
This mixer designed as a table top unit is ideally suited
for mixing the sound for PA applications or recording
applications. Via the four input channels – 2 × mono,
2 × stereo – up to two microphones (also phantom-
powered microphones) and a maximum of four audio
sources with line output level (e. g. musical instru-
ments, CD players) can be connected. The effect AUX
way allows connection of an effect unit via an
adjustable mono send output and an adjustable stereo
return input. The mixer is also equipped with a repro-
duction input and a recording output for connecting a
recorder and it offers outputs for monitoring the master
signal via headphones and via a monitor system.
4
Connection
Prior to connecting any units or to changing any exist-
ing connections, always set the master control MAIN
MIX (27) for the overall volume to the left stop.

4.1 Audio sources

As it will not be possible to switch over between the
inputs in the mono channels 1 and 2, either use the
input MIC (3) or the input LINE (4) for these channels;
never use both inputs at the same time.
4.1.1 Microphones
Connect microphones to the balanced XLR jacks MIC
(3) of the mono channels 1 and 2. For both microphone
inputs, a central 48 V phantom power, required for
capacitor microphones operating with this phantom
power, can be activated via the switch +48 V PHAN-
TOM POWER (21). To activate the phantom power,
press the button. When the phantom power is acti-
vated, the LED +48 V (24) will be on.
CAUTION
G
When the phantom power is activated, no micro-
phones with unbalanced output must be connected
to the microphone inputs; otherwise these micro-
phones may be damaged.
G
To prevent switching noise, only actuate the button
PHANTOM POWER when the mixer is switched off
or when the control MAIN MIX (27) has been set to
minimum.
4.1.2 Line units
Audio sources with line output level (e. g. musical
instruments, CD players) are connected to the bal-
anced 6.3 mm jacks LINE (4) of the channels 1 to 5/6:
1) Connect mono units to the LINE inputs of the mono
channels 1 and 2. For connecting a mono unit to a
stereo channel 3/4 or 5/6, only use the jack L
(MONO). The input signal will then be switched
internally to the right and left channels.
2) Connect stereo units to the LINE inputs of the
stereo channels 3/4 and 5/6: L = left channel,
R = right channel.
For connecting additional line units, the following
stereo inputs can be used:
– the unbalanced 6.3 mm jacks STEREO AUX
RETURNS (11); when connecting a mono unit, only
use the jack L (MONO). The input signal of these
jacks will be mixed to the master signal with the con-
trol AUX RETURN (18).
– the phono jacks TAPE IN (14). The input signal of
these jacks will be switched to the master signal with
the button TAPE TO MIX (23).

4.2 Effect unit

Via the effect AUX way, signal parts can be decoupled
from the input channels 1 to 5/6 [signal will be picked
up after the LEVEL controls (10)], routed via an effect
unit and mixed to the master signal after processing.
