Lubrication oil for air motor (PAM)
The oil to be used in the oil mist lubricator, located in
the airline, is of the SAE-10 standard type available
from local oil distributors.
6.2 Hydraulic oil change
The frequency of changing oil depends on operating
conditions. As a general rule, it is recommended to
change hydraulic oil every 300 hours of operation, or,
if the oil looks dirty and grey. Dispose of used oil
properly.
IMPORTANT:
cylinders and tools in the retract
position. If they are advanced when the
pump is filled, the reservoir will be over-
filled as soon as cylinders and tools will be retracted.
1. Place the pump cover over an
oil sump and unscrew the oil
drain plug (nr.1). Mount the
plug after the reservoir is
completely drained.
2. Unscrew the 10 bolts holding
the black reservoir cover and
lift the pump unit off the
hydraulic oil reservoir. In doing so, be careful not
to damage the reservoir gasket.
3. Clean the hydraulic oil reservoir with kerosine or
a similar cleaning agent and make sure that all
dirt has been removed.
4. Unscrew the bolt holding the oil filter screen and
clean the screen with kerosine. Mount the screen
after cleaning.
5. Make sure that the hydraulic oil reservoir gasket
has not been damaged. Replace the gasket if
necessary and reinstall the pump unit. Fill the
reservoir with new ENERPAC HF-95 hydraulic oil
until full mark on the oil level indicator.

6.3 Regular checks
Check the following at regular intervals:
• Regularly inspect all components to detect any
problem requiring maintenance and service.
Replace damaged parts immediately.
• Periodically check the hydraulic system for loose
connections and leaks.
• Keep all hydraulic components clean.
On air driven pumps also check the following at
regular intervals:
• The oil level in the oil mist lubricator. In case of
need, add SAE-10 standard type oil.
• The pressure adjustment by observing the
pressure gauge. The maximum admissible
pressure being 7 bar.
6.4 Spare parts
It is recommended to have on hand a set of spare
parts in order to prevent pump downtime due to
minor problems. For this, ENERPAC offers a ready-
to-use Spare Parts Kit (PE-50000EDC-K). It contains
a Repair Parts Sheet, O-rings, replacement washers
and other seals used in the pump.
Upon request, ENERPAC also offers Pump Repair
