5) Loosen the fastening screw on the gear adjuster (C, Fig. 417),
move the lever to «50» (1) on the gauge, return it to «0» (zero)
(2) and then set it to the desired value (3) (depending on the
quantity of product to be distributed), by rotating the adjuster
knob. Secure the fastening screw of the gear adjuster once
more.
6) In order to perform the actual distributor test itself, insert the
sowing test handle in the gearbox and rotate it in a counter-
clockwise (Fig. 418), as shown on the sticker: the revolutions
of the handle correspond to a 1/40 of a hectare.
7) Next check, using precision scales, the quantity of product
collected and multiply this by 40 in order to obtain the quantity
distributed (in kg/ha).
8) Make any necessary adjustments. Start up the machine, per-
forming the above mentioned steps in reverse order.
4.6.1 MAXIMUM QUANTITY OF PRODUCT DISTRIBUTED
The maximum distributable quantity of product depends on the
width and the working speed. By using the diagram in gure 419
it is possible to determine the maximum distributable quantities.
1) Find the curve that corresponds to the width of the machine.
2) Select the quantity of product to be distributed.
3) Select the working speed.
4) If the intersection point is below the curve, the quantity is
attainable; if it is not, the working speed must be reduced.
Quantities of product that exceed the diagram reading might
not be transported by the blower and so could cause blockage
of the tubes.
