Installation Conditions

4.1
Foundation
Important: The following needs to be clarified before installation:
The ground must be technically suitable based on national and harmonised standards.
Maximum groundwater levels/percolation characteristics of the substrate
Types of applicable loads, e.g. traffic loads
4.2
Construction Pit
To provide sufficient working space, the surface area of the construction pit must extend > 500 mm be-
yond the tank on all sides. The minimum clearance between the fixed structures must be 1000 mm.
Above a pit depth of > 1250 mm, a bank at an angle β is required based on the following table. The foun-
dation soil must be horizontal and provide a sufficient load-bearing capability.
Type of soil
Coarse-grain soil, soft compact soil
Inflexible or semi-solid compact soil
Rock
A layer of compacted round-grain gravel (max. grain size 8/16 mm, thickness 100 – 150
mm) is applied as a foundation
The following points must also be followed:
When installing the plant in the im-
mediate vicinity (< 5 m) of a slope,
mound or a bank, a statically-
determined retaining wall must be
erected in order to support the pres-
sure from the earth. The wall must
extend beyond the dimensions of the
tank by at least 500 mm in all direc-
tions and have a minimum clearance
of 1000 mm from the plant.
