wood supports, and clamp the layers to o eliminate vi-
bration and material tearing thus achieving a clean and
smooth cut. Lay out your pattern or line of cut on the top
layer.
IMPORTANT: When cutting metal, keep the exposed
portion of saw bar clean and free of metal chips by wip-
ing frequently with an cloth soaked in oil. Use extreme
caution in disposing of this cloth after completion of job
to prevent potential fire hazard.
DUST EXTRACTION
The jigsaw is delivered with a dust extraction adapter (9),
fitted to the base plate (TH 70Е) or the tool body (TH
65, TH 65E). The dust extraction adapter facilitates air
suction around the blade, thus extracting the dust and
chips from the cutting line to improve operator's scope
of vision.
TO INSTALL:
▪ Unplug the saw.
WARNING: Failure to unplug the saw may
result in accidental starting and possible serious injury.
▪ Attach the dust extraction adapter to the base plate
rear or to the body. (Fig.8)
▪ Connect the dust extraction adapter to a dust collec-
tion system or a vacuum cleaner.
TO REMOVE:
▪ Unplug the saw.
WARNING: Failure to unplug the saw may
result in accidental starting and possible serious injury.
▪ Draw out and remove the adapter.
PARALLEL GUIDE
The jigsaw is delivered with a parallel guide (12), which
is a convenient device for making crosscuts and rip cuts.
TO INSTALL:
▪ Unplug the saw.
WARNING: Failure to unplug the saw may
result in accidental starting and possible serious injury.
▪ Insert the parallel guide arm through the two slots in
the base plate. (Fig.9)
▪ Adjust the parallel guide to the desired distance from
the edge of material and fix it by the screws (13).
MAGNESIUM BASE PLATE (TH 70E)
The magnesium base plate (5) with a steel inlay provides
the highest possible stability and is intended for machin-
ing metal surfaces without the anti-scratch shoe (11).
For machining sensitive materials, the anti-scratch shoe
(11) prevents damaging the surface. To attach the anti-
scratch shoe (11), hook it onto the base plate (5) at the
front, press it up at the back and latch. (Fig.10)

Maintenance

WARNING: Always ensure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged before attempting to perform
inspection or maintenance.
LUBRICATION
All bearings have been pre-lubricated at the factory with
a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of
the unit under normal operating conditions and no further
lubrication is required.
BRUSH REPLACEMENT
When the carbon brushes are worn out, the machine
switches itself off. In this case both brushes must be re-
placed simultaneously with genuine brushes at SPARKY
service centre for warranty and post-warranty service.
GENERAL INSPECTION
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they are
properly tightened. Should any of the screws be loose,
retighten it immediately to avoid hazards.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this
has to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine and its ven-
tilation slots clean.
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign matter has
entered the ventilation slots and the grills around the
switches. Use a soft brush and/or air jet to remove any
accumulated dust. Wear safety glasses to protect your
eyes whilst cleaning.
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a damp cloth
and mild detergent if necessary.
WARNING: Never use alcohol, petrol or other
cleaning agent. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic
parts.
WARNING: Water must never come into contact
with the tool.
