• Park the Kimba Spring only on level surfaces. If it is necessary to park on an incline, position the Kimba Spring facing
uphill with the brake locked. Also make sure that you bring the seat to an upright position because there is a risk that
it can tip over backwards when in the reclined position.
• Before leaving the Kimba Spring and before getting into and out of it, always lock the brakes.
• The footplate must not be used as a stepstool when getting into or out of the Kimba Spring.
• Only lift the Kimba Spring with parts that are solidly attached:
- Front frame tube above the front wheels
- Rear axle
- Push handles / Pushbar
• When your child reaches for objects in front, to the side or behind the Kimba Spring, make sure that he or she does
not lean out of it too far, since the shift in the center of gravity might cause the Kimba Spring to tilt or tip over.
• Ease of handling is dependent on tire air pressure. Correctly inflated tires considerably improve the maneuverability
of your Kimba Spring. The air pressure should be at least 2 bar (200 kPa).
• Please be aware that in the case of certain footrest settings the footrest can collide with the caster wheels.
• Please keep packaging material away from children. Plastic packaging presents the danger of suffocation.
• After any adjustments, retighten the screws that have been loosened.
• Never leave your child unattended in the Kimba Spring, even if the belts are in use and the brakes are engaged.
• Use caution near fire or flammable objects, especially when holding lit cigarettes. The seat and back padding could
catch fire.
• Before using the Kimba Spring, both folding guards must be firmly locked in place.
• Static stability is at 18° inclination.
• Attaching heavy bags or other weight to the push handles can adversely affect stability.
• Maximal load capacity of the storage bags is 6 kg.
• Trays must not be loaded with heavy objects.
• The maximal load capacity per seating unit is 35 kg.
• When using twin outdoor mobility bases, the maximal load capacity of the two seating units will be reduced due to
the maximal load capacity of the outdoor mobility base.
• The Kimba Spring has been approved for the transport of only one child (two children with twin mobility base).
• All accessory and add-on components will reduce the remaining maximal load capacity.
• The maximal load capacity for the Kimba Spring is 50 kg.
• Using your Kimba Spring as a Seat in a Transport Vehicle for the Disabled:
For optimal protection during transport in a motor vehicle, use the vehicle's seats and corresponding restraint systems
whenever possible.
For the time being, Otto Bock has not yet released the Kimba Spring for use as a seat for transportation in motor
vehicles; the release is currently being prepared, however.
