Swivel lock

Model 3291 1000
Model 3293 1000
Rain cape (Fig. 39)
With the zipper open pull the hood over the child's head, then unfold the upper brim over the backrest and the lower
brim around the footrest.
Slipsacks (Fig. 40)
Place the summer, winter or sheepskin slipsack in the Kimba Spring. Tie the straps to the lower back section and tie
the upper straps to the frame of the back insert. If using an abductor or belt, make a cut in the corresponding synthetic
leather strips using a sharp blade. Zippers allow the upper part of the slipsack to be opened or removed.

Groin strap

When fitting the groin strap for the first time, it is best to remove the seating unit from the outdoor mobility base.
Position the groin strap with the quick-release buckles on the thigh belts pointing downwards on the seat surface.
Thread the attachment straps of the groin strap between seat and back padding, wrap them around the back of the
seat edge and affix with the hip support screws (Fig. 41).
Thread the tensioning straps for the thigh belts (the end with a loop) on the right and left side through the roll loops
(Fig. 22). Thread the free end through the loop and tighten the tensioning strap.
Now pull the free ends of the tensioning straps toward the seat padding.
• You can now seat the child in the Kimba Spring on the groin strap.
Guide the thigh belts up between the legs and over the thighs to the outside. The part of the thigh belt to which the
buckle is attached should lie on the pelvic bone.
• Insert the male side of the quick-release buckles located on the tensioning straps into the buckles (Fig. 42) on the
thigh belts.
Tighten the thigh belt by pulling the free end of the strap that comes out of the buckle.
• To disengage the quick-release buckle, press the tab on the plug.

Frame padding

Fit the frame padding (Fig. 43) around the pushbar and close the hook & loop strap.
Turn the hook & loop closure down and pull the frame padding down over the folding guard and front frame screw
connection. Before folding the outdoor mobility base, lift the padding up until the folding guard is free.

Tray

Snap the tray with the vertical round tubes into the retainers (Fig. 44) on the seating unit while simultaneously pressing
the spring knobs. The clamping lever (Fig. 44, item A) adjusts the depth and angle of the tray plate.
Attention: The tray can only be used if the seat is mounted in the driving direction.
Trays must not be loaded with heavy objects.

Thoracic supports

First determine the correct height position on the backrest for attachment of the thoracic supports (Fig. 45). Mark this
point on the synthetic leather strip of the back padding.
Then cut open the back padding over the entire length of the thoracic support holder. Slide the holding plate of the
thoracic supports through the incision beneath the back padding. Insert the carriage screws of the thoracic supports
through the slotted holes in the backrest and screw them to the knurled nuts.
22
The multi-functional seating unit can also be equipped with a back insert with integrated
headrest (Fig. 36).
The procedure for height adjustment is identical to that of the headrest version described
above.
The free space for the head can be varied in increments of 1 cm (up to 3 cm on each side)
by sliding the supplied hard foam pads under the side padding sections.
To close the swivel lock, position the casters so they are pointing forward.
Now pull the swivel lock housing to the front until the housing encloses the cap nut (Fig.
37).
To open the swivel lock, slide the swivel lock housing away from the wheel until the cap nut
is free.
If necessary, the setting for straight-forward motion can be re-adjusted. To do this, loosen
the screw until the screw can be shifted in the slotted hole. Close the swivel lock, set the
front wheel so that it is positioned for forward motion and slightly tighten the screw using an
open-end wrench. Open the swivel lock, turn the wheel to the outside and firmly tighten the
screw with two open-end wrenches (Fig. 38).
Retrofit: (only healthcare providers)
Disassemble the front wheels from the forks. Unscrew the forks. Rivet the metal sheets of
the swivel lock to the forks. Remount forks and front wheels to the Kimba Spring.
