To unfold the Kimba Spring please proceed as follows:
• Carefully remove the transport safety snaps and packing material.
• Using the black grip (Fig. 1, item A) of the pushbar, lift the outdoor mobility base to unfold it until you can set the
Kimba Spring on its wheels. The folding guard (Fig. 2, item A) closes automatically when the pushbar is pushed
back.
• Check the folding guards and engage them if necessary.
• Place the seating unit on the mobility base (please refer to section "Removing the Seating Unit from, and Mounting
it to, the Mobility Base".
• Manipulate the release lever on the tilt-adjuster (Fig. 2, item B) to adjust the angle of the seating unit. Hold the
seating unit with one hand to prevent it from uncontrolled tipping.
• Bring the backrest (Fig. 1, item B) in upright position and fix it in the desired position by tightening the clamping lever
(Fig. 3, item E).
When pulled away from the screw, the clamping lever can be rotated freely, thus enabling you to turn it to a more
convenient operating position.
• Slide the back insert (Fig. 3, item B) into the back base (Fig. 3, item D) and clamp it in the desired height by
tightening the set screws (Fig. 3, item C).
• The storage bag is attached to the frame with straps and snap fasteners. To do this, please thread the
corresponding straps through the eyelets on the right and left of the rear frame (Fig. 13, item A) and around the
frame tube of the central frame (Fig. 13, item B). Use the snap fasteners to attach the straps.
• We recommend adjusting the seating unit as directed before mounting the padding (please refer to section
"Adjustment and Adaptation Possibilities of the Seating Unit").
• Place the seat padding (Fig. 4) onto the seat so that the corresponding hook & loop straps are connected. Allow the
seat padding to extend approx. 2 cm over the back of the seat edge.
• Adjust the desired depth of the hip support retainers and fix each with the two adjustment screws (Fig. 5).
• Slide the hip support pads over the retainers and attach with hook & loop straps (Fig. 6).
• Put the lateral support pads (Fig. 8, item A) onto the plastic retainers with the padding side towards the inside and
secure them with the hook & look closures.
• Pull the back padding (Fig. 3, item A) with its cap over the back insert and close the zipper. Slightly press the
padding against the back insert from top to bottom so that the hook & loop closure on the padding (Fig. 8, item B)
and back insert closes. Pull the excess back padding down between the seat and lower edge of the back and attach
it to the corresponding snap fasteners on the outside of the back (Fig. 3).
• To fold the Kimba Spring, please proceed as follows:
Pull both grips (Fig. 2, item A) to release the folding guards. Press the pushbar (Fig. 1, item A) forward, and the
Kimba Spring will fold.

Firmly re-tighten the knurled nuts after adjustment.
Loosen the knurled nuts (Fig. 9, item A) on the underside of the seat and adjust the seat
width by sliding the hip supports (Fig. 10, item B); abducted settings are also possible.
Firmly re-tighten the knurled nuts after adjustment.
Adjust for the desired depth and fix each support with the two adjustment screws (Fig. 5).
Loosen the set screws (Fig. 3, item C) with an Allen wrench, move the back insert (Fig. 10,
item A) to the desired height, and firmly re-tighten the set screws.
From a back height of approx. 55 cm with seat size 1 and of approx. 66 cm with seat size 2,
the back plate (Fig. 7) must be shifted from pos. A to pos. B.
To adapt the padding accordingly, please refer to section "Unpacking and Setting up".
Release the clamping lever (Fig. 3, item E), adjust back inclination, and firmly re-tighten the
clamping lever.
Loosen the wing nut (Fig. 11, item A), adjust knee angle, and firmly re-tighten the wing nut.
Loosen the set screws (Fig. 11, item B) with an Allen wrench, adjust the lower leg length,
and firmly re-tighten the set screws. The footrest can be flipped up for transport or to
support the lower leg.
The footrest angle can be changed by adjusting the locking bushing (Fig. 30, item A)
(option) in the slotted holes. Pull the release strap (Fig. 30, item B) to flip up the footplate.
