MAINTENANCE
• Periodically grease the mobile parts with a lubricating product (not grease or oil).
Inspect t he b rakes, h arness, c lips a nd m echanisms t hat m ay s uffer f rom w ear a nd t ear.
• Clean the frame with a damp cloth (do not use abrasive products or solvents). On
the plastic parts use a sponge with warm water and a mild detergent.
• Follow the washing instructions for the textile parts of the chair, let them dry properly
before folding. Do the same if the chair has been exposed to damp conditions to
prevent mould from forming.
• This pushchair has been designed to carry just one child.
• Do not use accessories that have not been approved by the manufacturer.
Brake functioning (see illustrations 31 - 32)
• The DOWNTOWN has two different braking systems: normal and parking.
• The brake handle is situated on the upper right part of the handlebar and normal
braking works by pressing it to stop the chair and releasing it to move the chair
again (fig. 31).
• To use the parking brake, press the handle until the safety catch slots into place
(fig. 32).
• To unlock it, press the handle upwards until the catch is automatically released.
Safety harness (see illustrations 33 - 36)
• Activate the parking brake of the DOWNTOWN.
• Check that the safety harness is open before sitting the child in the chair (fig.33).
• Sit the child in the chair, adjusting the height of the chest straps to the child's size
(fig. 34 - 35).
• Fasten all the components of the buckle:chest straps, abdominal belt and crotch
strap (fig. 36).
• Lastly, adjust the harness belts to fit the child.
Armrests: fitting (see illustrations 37- 39)
• Pass the ends of the armrests through the openings on both sides of the upholstery
(fig. 37).
• Insert the ends of the armrests into the Unisystem slots of the chair by sliding
them downwards (fig. 38).
• To remove the armrests press the small lever upwards (fig. 39) and pull upwards.
Repeat the same operation on the other side.
