7. Spread the Clamps open and slide them over the
wheelchair frame tubes, in front of each Fast clamp D.
Due to space limitations, it may be necessary to
place the Clamps behind each Fast clamp.
8. Insert the screws and nuts in the Clamps and tighten.
WARNING!
– Make sure that the Retainer clamps and Clamps
are positioned flush with the Tension hooks and
Fast clamps. Re-adjust, if necessary.
Removing the drop seat board
1. Open the Fast clamps D.
2. Slide the Drop seat board forward until the Tension
hooks B clear the tabs on the Retaining clamps E.
3. Lift the drop seat board off of the wheelchair frame.
Placing the drop seat board
1. Open the Fast clamps D.
2. Place the Drop seat board on the wheelchair frame
tubes.
3. Slide the Drop seat board rearward until the Tension
hooks B slide fully under the tabs on the Retaining
clamps E.
4. Fold down the lever on the Fast clamp until it snaps over
the wheelchair frame tube.

Using the Drop Seat Board

WARNING!
Risk of injury
– Before each use, check the product visually for
loose screws or worn screws and fittings.
– Do not use the product if defective.
WARNING!
– Always use in conjunction with an appropriate
cushion and check that the user does not
bottom out on the cushion.
– Ensure that the Drop Seat Board does not
protrude forwards beyond the front of the
cushion or come into contact with the back of
the user's legs in any way. The cushion may
overhang the board slightly, i.e. up to half an
inch (13 mm).
The Invacare® Drop Seat Board is suitable for use in transport
when fitted with heavy duty hardware.
WARNING!
– Make sure that the wheelchair, the Drop Seat
Board is fitted to, is suitable for use when
occupied in transport.

Maintenance and periodic inspection

Ensure the Drop Seat Board is inspected every three months
for loose or worn fastenings and that the torque settings are
checked by a suitably qualified and competent person, see
chapter Assembling the product, page 3 .
Cleaning and care
1. Clean the mounting hardware and seat board with
common household cleaners and a soft cloth.
Should the product become contaminated, ask your
infection control officer for advice. Alternatively,
contact Invacare® for their information on the
decontamination protocol.

Re-use
The product is suitable for repeated use. The number of
times it can be used depends on how often and in which
way the product is used. Before reuse, clean and disinfect
the product thoroughly
(→ Cleaning and care, page 4 ), check the safety functions
and reset if necessary.
Disposal
The disposal and recycling of used devices and packaging
must comply with the applicable local legal regulations.

measure 2 3/4" / 70 mm narrower than the frame width.
For example, the 18" / 457.2 mm seat board will be 15 1/4"
/ 387 mm wide, to fit an 18" / 457.2 mm seat frame.
