Intended/non-intended use

• The petrol-driven hedge trimmer is intended exclusively for cutting hedges and bushes. The hedges must not have
a maximum branch diameter exceeding 27 mm.
• Intended use also encompasses reading and observing the operating instructions before each use. Before and
during use, the hedge trimmer must be inspected for mechanical damage. If repairs are necessary, please contact
your specialist dealer.
• Only original spare parts, or those approved by the manufacturer, may be used. The hedge trimmer may only be
used in an outdoor garden area.
• If non-approved or non-original spare parts are used, the operator shall be liable for any personal injury or property
damage which occurs, and not the manufacturer.
• Any use other than that stated above is a non-intended use.
• Intended use also encompasses observing the operating, maintenance and repair conditions laid out by the manu-
facturer and following the safety instructions contained in the manual.
• Take account of the valid, applicable accident prevention regulations as well as other generally acknowledged
health and safety and general safety rules.
• Any use which does not comply with these in also non-intended use. The manufacturer shall not be held liable for
damage resulting for such; the risk shall be borne solely by the user.
• Making your own modifications to the hedge trimmer excludes the manufacturer from all liability for any resulting
damage.
• The tool may only be adjusted, used, and maintained by persons who are familiar with how to do so, and who are
informed of the associated risks. Repair work may only be carried out by the manufacturer or only by customer
service centres recommended by the manufacturer.
• The machine may not be used in an explosive environment or exposed to the rain.
• Metal parts (e.g. wires) must be removed from the material which is to be cut.

Residual risks

• Even when abiding by the intended use, and despite observing all applicable safety provisions, residual risks are
still present, due to the nature of the design (as determined by the purpose of the tool).
• Residual risks may be minimised by paying attention to the „Intended use", and the „Safety instructions", as well
as the operating instructions as a whole.
• Thoughtfulness and caution reduce the risk of personal injury and damage.
• Breakage of parts of the blade.
• Injury due to objects of parts of the blade being flung out.
• Risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if the tool is used in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas.
• Risk of burns on hot components.
• Hearing impairment, in case of extended periods working without hearing protection.
• Moreover, despite all available information and precautions, there may also be residual risks which are not apparent.

Safe working

Before using this product, read the following information and the safety regulations which apply to your own
country, in order to protect yourself and others from potential injury.
Always store these safety instructions (operating instructions) with the hedge trimmer.
The hedge trimmer may only be used by persons who have sufficient experience to do so.
Only hand the hedge trimmer on or lend it to persons who are familiar with the hedge trimmer and how to handle
it. Always supply the operating instruction with it.
Repairs to the tool must be made by the manufacturer or a firm recommended by them.

Getting started

• Persons using the hedge trimmer for the first time would benefit from a practical briefing on how to use it as well
as on personal protective equipment, by an experienced operator.
