ASSEMBLY

WARNING:

OPERATION

WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with this product to make
you careless. Remember that a careless fraction
of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from the tool when
you are assembling parts, making adjustments,
cleaning, or when not in use. Removing battery
pack will prevent accidental starting that could
cause serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields
marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1, in addition to
hearing protection. Failure to do so could result
in objects being thrown into your eyes and other
possible serious injuries.
WARNING:
Do not use any attachments or accessories not
recommended by the manufacturer of this product.
The use of attachments or accessories not recom-
mended can result in serious personal injury.
APPLICATIONS
This product is intended for the purposes listed below:
 Drilling in all types of aggregate products (brick, concrete,
concrete block, stone and other aggregates)
 Light duty chiseling on tile, masonry, or concrete
You may use this product with the chuck adaptor (not
included) for the purposes listed below:
 Drilling in all types of wood products (lumber, plywood,
paneling, composition board and hard board)
 Drilling in ceramics, plastics, fiberglass, and laminates
 Drilling in metals
 Hammer drilling in concrete, brick, or other masonry
WARNING:
Do not attempt to modify this product or create
accessories not recommended for use with this
product. Any such alteration or modification is
misuse and could result in a hazardous condition
leading to possible serious personal injury.
INSTALLING/REMOVING THE ROTARY
HAMMER DRILL HEAD
See Figure 1, page 9.
To install:
 Set the direction of rotation selector on the power base in
the OFF (center lock) position to lock the switch trigger,
then remove the battery pack. See figure 5.
 Align one of the arrows on the rotary hammer drill head
with the arrow on the power base. Push together, then
twist the power base until the latches click into position
and the arrow on the rotary hammer drill head is aligned
with the lock icon on the power base. Pull on the head
to make sure it is securely installed before operation.
NOTE: The head can be installed at 90° angles to best
suit your application needs.
 Reinstall the battery pack in the power base. The Ready
LED on the power base will flash green while the head is
evaluated, then turn solid green and emit a trilling tone
when the tool is ready to use.
NOTE: If any other LED appears or tone is heard, refer
to the power base operator's manual for further details.
To remove:
 Pull the release tab toward the power base with one hand
and rotate the power base with the other hand. When
the arrow on the rotary hammer drill head aligns with the
arrow on the power base, pull the head away from the
base to separate.
INSTALLING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE
ASSEMBLY
See Figures 2 - 3, page 9.
An auxiliary handle is packed with the tool for ease of opera-
tion and to help prevent loss of control. The handle can be
mounted for either left or right hand use.
 Set the direction of rotation selector on the power base in
the OFF (center lock) position to lock the switch trigger,
then remove the battery pack. See figure 5.
 Loosen the handle assembly by turning the handle
counterclockwise.
