Damage to the cylinder caused by changing the medium!
Once oiled compressed air has been used in the system, the choice of this medium cannot be
reversed without damaging the cylinder.
Never change from oiled to oil-free compressed air.
Commissioning
Danger of burns caused by hot surfaces!
The valve, cylinder and adjacent system parts are heated during continuous operation.
Contact with these surfaces can result in burns.
Do not touch the cylinder valve unit or adjacent system parts while the system is in
operation.
After switching off the system, first allow the heated components to cool before touching
the surfaces.

NOTICE
Proceed as follows:
1. Check the housing of the cylinder valve unit for damage.
Operation is prohibited in a damaged housing.
2. Slowly pressurize the entire system until the working pressure
is achieved (see "Technical Data" on page 77 for minimum and
maximum working pressures).
3. Adjust the following settings for the system conditions or loads
during operation:
– Piston speed, if necessary (see 8.1.1)
– Cushioning (see 8.1.2)

CAUTION

8.1.1 Changing the piston speed

You can influence piston speeds in both travel directions using the
optional throttle screws on the valve (only for series 740), thus
optimizing the cylinder cycle.
To increase the speed, turn the throttle screws (8) out.
To reduce the speed, turn the throttle screws (8) in.
