2. Remove all packaging materials and pro-
tective foils from the product and the acces-
sories before using it for the first time
3. Check for visible signs of damage or
missing items.

Never remove the rating plate or any
warning signs on the appliance.

Keep the original packaging during the
guarantee period in order to pack the appli-
ance properly in the event of a guarantee
or warranty claim. Transport damage will
invalidate the warranty or guarantee.
Before using for the first time
Before enjoying the first coffee, we recom-
mend a trial run first to remove any possible
production residues in the system.
1. Fill the water tank (13) up to the MAX
mark with fresh water as described the sec-
tion Filling with water (page 15).
2. Fill with coffee beans as described
in the section Filling with coffee beans
(page 15).
3. Rinse the filter holder ( 1) with clear wa-
ter and put it into the filter compartment (9)
(image A1).
4. Insert the permanent filter as described in
the section Inserting the filter (page 15).
5. Place the glass jug (15) with the lid onto
the hot plate (8) under the filter compar -
ment (9).
6. Insert the plug into the mains socket, the
display lighting lights up.
7. Set the number of cups to 12 as de-
scribed in the section Setting the number of
cups (page 15).
8. Press the
button (17) to switch on the
grinder. Brewing begins automatically after
grinding.
9. Wait until the water quantity for the 12
cups has run through. The "Cup" symbol in
the display extinguishes and an acoustic sig-
nal sounds.
10. Empty the glass jug (15) and pour the
coffee away.
11. Clean the appliance as described in
the section Cleaning and maintenance
(page 18).
