Operation and use
Switching on the display lighting
The blue display lighting extinguishes 60
seconds after pressing the button if no coffee
is brewed.
1. The display lighting switches on when the
button is pressed. Check the settings.
Setting the time
1. Insert the plug into the mains socket. The
time 12:00 starts flashing on the displa .
2. Set the hour by pressing the
(23).
3. Set the minutes by pressing the
(24) button.
NOTE
►
The time will be stored until either a
new time is entered or the plug is removed
from the socket for more than a minute.
Filling with water
1. Open the water tank lid (4).
2. Fill the tank with water.
3. Close the water tank lid (4).
NOTE
►
Only the amount of water is used that is
required for the set number of cups (2-12).

Pay attention to the filling level indicator
(5). Do not overfill
Filling with coffee beans
1. Take the lid off the coffee bean compart-
ment (2).
2. Make sure that the water tank lid (4) is
closed to prevent coffee beans from falling
into the water tank.
3. Fill the coffee bean compartment (3) with
coffee beans. Do not overfill
4. Put the lid (2) back onto the coffee bean
compartment (3).
1. Press the unlocking button (6) to open the
filter compartment (9). Make sure that the fil-
ter holder (11) with drip-stop (10) is correctly
inserted into the filter compartment (image
A1).
2. Insert the permanent filter (12) or a size 4
paper filter into the filter holder (imag A2).
3. Close the filter compartment (9)
Setting the coffee strength
1. Press the
button

Setting the number of cups
1. Press the

10 or 12 cups.

Setting the grinding fineness
1. Turn the rotary knob (1) so that the arrow
of the scale arrow of the rotary knob points to
the position of the desired grinding fineness
The grinder is continuously variable:
completely left: finest grind, completely
right: coarsest grind.
At the finest setting, coffee is ground very
finely; the ground coffee beans are suitable
for very strong coffee drinks like espresso.
Therefore the finest grind is not suitable for
brewing 12 cups of coffee.
