Lumbafix
Intended purpose
The protect.Lumbafix is a lumbar support. The
product is exclusively to be used for the orthotic
fitting of the lower back and only on intact skin.
Indications
All indications requiring stabilisation of the
lumbar spine such as:
• Lower back pain, ligament degeneration
• Muscle imbalance, muscle weakness
• Inflammation of the facet joints
• Symphysis pubis dysfunction
• Failed back surgery syndrome
• Pain in the lumbosacral joint
Contraindications
Disease or injury to the skin in the area that
the brace is used on, particularly when signs of
infection (excessive heat, swelling or redness) are
apparent.
Mode of action / how to wear the brace
A trained professional should supervise the
first fitting and wearing of the brace. protect.
Lumbafix combines compressive fabric and
integrated back support slats to stabilize the
lumbar region and the sacroiliac joint without
impairing muscularity. The structure of the spine
is improved and stress is removed from the
affected segments, thus relieving pain.
The bandage's effects are most noticeable during
movement of the body. In principle, the bandage
can be worn for the whole day. The length of time
that the bandage is worn should, however, be
based upon the individual's own requirements.
The bandage should be removed for long
sedentary periods (i.e. if you are sitting down for
a long time, driving or sleeping).
If you experience excessive pain or your
condition worsens whilst wearing the bandage,
stop wearing the product immediately and
contact your doctor or the specialist supply store.
Putting on / taking off
• The green edging shows you which way up the
brace should go (green edging should be on
top).
• First, slip a hand into the hand strap in the
left inside of the fastener. Wrap the bandage
around the body and then slip a hand into the
outer hand strap on the right side (Fig. 2+3).
• Pull the two fastening sides over each other
and then secure them as centrally as possible
with the Velcro. The bandage has been put on
correctly if the bottom edge of the fastener is
located just above the pubic bone (Fig. 3+4).
Care instructions
Hook and loop fasteners should be closed for
washing. Soap residues can cause skin irritation
and material wear.
• You can wash the product by hand, preferably
using a medi clean detergent, or in delicate
cycle at 30°C using a mild detergent without
fabric conditioners.
• Do not bleach.
• Leave to dry naturally.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.
Storage instructions
Keep the product in a cool, dry place and do not
expose to direct sunlight.

The manufacturer's liability will become void if
the product is not used as intended. Please also
refer to the corresponding safety information
and instructions in this manual.
Disposal
The product can be disposed of in the domestic
waste.
