NOTICE
Pumping problems due to water level being too low
The hydraulics are self-venting. Smaller air cushions are resorbed during pumping. If the
fluid is lowered too much, separation of the volume flow may occur. The minimum per-
missible water level must reach up to the upper edge of the hydraulics housing!
During pump operation observe the local regulations on the following subjects:
▪ Workplace safety
▪ Accident prevention
▪ Handling electrical machines
Strictly adhere to the personnel's work plan determined by the operator. All personnel are
responsible for adhering to the work plan and regulations!
Due to their design, centrifugal pumps have rotating parts that are easily accessible. De-
pending on the operating conditions, sharp edges can develop on these parts. WARN-
ING! This can lead to cuts and limbs may be amputated and severed! The following points
must be checked at regular intervals:
▪ Operating voltage (+/-10 % of the rated voltage)
▪ Frequency (+/- 2% of the rated frequency)
▪ Current consumption between the individual phases (max. 5 %)
▪ Voltage difference between the individual phases (max. 1 %)
▪ Maximum switching frequency
▪ Minimum water submersion depending on the operating mode
▪ Inlet: no air intake
▪ Level control device/dry-running protection: Switching point
▪ Smooth/low-vibration running
▪ All gate valves opened
▪ Operation/control: Operating personnel must be trained in the operating principle of the
complete system.
▪ Electrical work: A qualified electrician must carry out the electrical work.
▪ Installation-/dismantling work: The technician must be trained to handle the necessary tools
and required fastening materials for the present building site.
▪ Locally applicable accident prevention and trade association safety provisions.
▪ Observe all regulations for working with and underneath heavy suspended loads.
▪ Make available the required protective equipment and ensure that the personnel wear the
protective equipment.
▪ Ensure sufficient aeration in closed rooms.
▪ If toxic or suffocating gases build up, immediately initiate countermeasures!
During decommissioning the pump is switched off, but remains installed. This ensures that
the pump is always ready for operation.
In order that the pump is protected from frost and ice, always completely immerse the
pump in the fluid.
The temperature of the fluid must always be above +3 °C (+37 °F).
1. Switch off the pump at the operating point.
2. Secure the operating point against unauthorized switch-on (e.g. seal off the main
switch).
▶ The pump is out of service and can now be disassembled.
If the pump remains installed after decommissioning, observe the following points:
▪ Ensure requirements for decommissioning for the complete time period of decommission-
ing. If the requirements are not guaranteed, remove the pump following decommissioning!
