7.1.1 Installation kit
Exit device with locking pin and integrated insert lock, as well as the required Fastening
elements.
The exit device replaces 560 mm of the climbing protection ladder and is delivered along
with 2 rungs.
7.1.2 Tools needed for installation
1 Torque wrench SW 19
PPE
Additionally for retrofitting:
1 Hacksaw or angle grinder with cutting disc
1 Flat file for deburring (maximum 35 mm wide)
Zinc spray in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461 to coat the cut surfaces
At least 2 persons are required for installation.
7.1.3 Preassembly

The exit device is delivered completely assembled
7.1.4 Installation in a new system
Do not use grease!
When installing a new ladder system where an exit device is planned, the device should be
installed between two ladder parts, each with a butt connector (TAC-0040) per joint.
At 20°C, the gap must be at least 1 mm, but may not exceed 3 mm.
The recommended installation height is about 1 m above the entry/exit level.

During installation, separate safety measures in accordance with EN 345/355 are required.
After installation, check whether the diverter can be rotated properly, and whether the
runner can be removed easily.
