12.1.6 Instructions for cutting segments that are specially designed for preassembled wind turbines.
Do not use grease!
These installation instructions refer to the installation of flange extension brackets which exist in
different versions with or without exit device, on aluminium rung ladders with a rung spacing of
280 mm to 300 mm and a rung height and tread depth between 28 mm and 30mm.
Installation takes place using the supplied system components 1x ladder clamp (part no. TAC-
0260-200) and 2x coupling pieces (part no. TAC-0090-140). Pay attention to the proper torque,
please refer to the Safety information at the beginning of Chapter 11.
Here, ladders and flange extension brackets are supplied depending on the version so that you
can then shorten these at the top end by up to 30 mm and the bottom end up to 60mm in order to
be able to adjust them precisely in the flange area of a wind turbine.
The ladder and rail have to be cut the same.
Figure 26: Information on cutting
If, when cutting the rail, less than 3mm of ridge remains under the stop-catch, then the
catch must be broken out of the rail.
A crosscut saw must be used in this case to make precise cuts, ensure that gaps are 1-3
mm.
After cutting, it is essential to treat the cut edges with a zinc bath or with zinc spray.
