Safety Information
The ladder must not be climbed on if any of these safety requirements are not met!
Other information:
Climbing protection runners are personal fall protection systems and are designed only for their intended
use. The end user must ensure, in an appropriate manner, that the runners are used with every ascent and
descent. The runners should potentially be cleaned after each use while taking account of the relevant
operating instructions. The final installer and the supplier must determine the required number of runners in
coordination with the end customer. If no other agreements have been made, then the minimum number of
arresters required in accordance with DIN 18799 applies, i.e. 2 pieces; these need to be accessible in case
it is necessary to provide assistance.

MAINTENANCE

15.1 Inspection

The fall arrest system should be checked by a qualified person as required, but as a rule at least once per
year. For systems that are used less frequently than once per year, this inspection may be postponed until
the next use, even if this interval is longer than one year. In this case, however, it is essential to ensure that
the check be carried out by a qualified person before renewed use. If this requirement is not fulfilled,
SKYLOTEC GmbH does not assume any liability in any case.
"A qualified person is someone who has sufficient knowledge in the field of personal protective equipment
through training and experience. It must be ensured that he or she can assess the safe working condition
of the climbing protection system. He or she must be familiar with the relevant directives and the generally
recognised rules of the technology (e.g. EN standards)."

15.2 Use maintenance

Damaged components or components that have been weakened by a fall must be removed from use.
Failure to comply may put human life at risk! All bolted connections, mounting brackets to the building,
mounting brackets to the ladder sections, butt joints, insert locks and end stops must be checked regularly
to make sure they are tight. It is important to ensure that the guide rails are free of dirt.
