INSTALLING THE XDP U-JOINT BELLOWS KIT

When installing the front clamp 2a, it must be oriented to the 2 O'Clock position A as viewed from the back of the
boat looking forward. When installing the rear clamp 2b, it must be oriented to the 12 O'Clock position B. Torque
clamp to 40–66 in. lb. (4.5–7.5 Nm). When reinstalling the pivot pins, if necessary, refer to the Sterndrive Gasoline
Engines Installation Manual (PN 7742217) for additional information.
CAUTION! Ensure that both ends of bellows are pushed completely onto the flange and the bead
is engaged in the groove around the entire diameter of the bellows. The hose clamp must sit square-
ly against the lip of the bellows. Be sure to correctly position the clamps when installing them on
the bellows. Failure to correctly position the bellows and clamps will cause damage to the bellows,
leading to component damage.
