Dear customer,
Congratulations on your choice of a model aircraft from the robbe
Modellsport range. Many thanks for placing your trust in us.
We assume that the operator of this model will have a certain level
of experience, and have therefore deliberately kept the following
building instructions brief.
Certain stages are only sketched in, and are intended to be more a
general guide and suggestion rather than detailed instructions.
The aeroplane should be assembled in the sequence defined by the
pictures and the brief accompanying texts.
Little work is required to prepare the model ready for flying. You
can make it as easy as possible to complete and operate your new
aeroplane safely by taking the trouble to read right through these
instructions, together with the separate information sheets and the
safety notes, before you fly it for the first time.
The model is available in three different versions which differ in their
technical features.
The glider and electric glider are produced in lightweight white
"Flexit plus" foam, whereas the blue slope soarer is made of Arcel,
and is therefore slightly heavier.
These instructions cover all three variants.

Assembly and operating instructions
Sport Wing
The decals shown in the photos are only intended as a guide to
applying and positioning them; the actual design of the decals may
differ.
The first section describes the construction of the model (No. 381
and No. 383) in glider form.
The next section covers the installation of the motor pod, which can
be fitted to convert the model into an electric glider.
This means that it is possible to convert an existing glider version
(No. 381) into a powered version at any time.
All directions, such as "right-hand", are as seen from the tail of
the model, looking forward.
The power system
The white Sport Wing, No. 381, is intended for a brushless out-
runner motor; a suitable power set is available under Order No.
384.
The Sport Wing, No. 38, is supplied complete with electric motor.
The heavier Sport Wing, No. 883, is intended for slope-soaring,
and we do not recommend fitting a power system to this version.
The radio control system
For this model you require a radio control system with a minimum
of four channels and a delta mixer. We particularly recommend .4
GHz systems.
For the electric-powered version you will need a BEC speed con-
troller, as the receiving system is powered by the flight pack via this
circuit.
For the glider version you will need a separate receiver battery.
When checking the working systems, remember to set the control
surface servos to centre (neutral) from the transmitter, i.e. transmit-
ter sticks and trims central.
When you wish to fly the model, always set the throttle stick to the
"motor stopped" position before switching the transmitter on; only
then connect the flight battery to the speed controller in the model.
To switch the system off, always disconnect the flight battery from
the speed controller first, and only then switch off the transmitter.
When working on any part of the radio control system, the motor

or the speed controller, refer to the instructions supplied with the
units.
It is also essential to read the instructions supplied with the flight
battery and the battery charger before using them for the first
time.
Glued joints, suitable adhesives
Always check that parts fit accurately before reaching for the glue
bottle.
Different materials are used for the white and blue versions, so dif-
ferent adhesives are also required:
The white foam version (material: Flexit plus) is best glued using
epoxy (five-minute epoxy). Prepare the joints carefully beforehand,
as this adhesive sets quickly.
Caution: do not use cyano-acrylate glues ("cyano") on white foam,
as they attack and destroy the material.
The blue foam version (material: Arcel) is best glued using medium-
viscosity cyano. Use activator with this adhesive.
Caution: epoxy does not adhere properly to the blue foam materi-
al.
Note: keep all adhesives away from the painted vacuum-moulded
parts and the decals, as there is a danger that the decal surfaces
will be damaged.
