4.2 Fitting and Application
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to
improper or excessively tight application
► Ensure that the orthosis is applied properly and fits correctly.
► Inform the patient.
NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
► Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality, wear
and damage prior to each use.
► Advise the patient that the product must not be used if the product or
part of the product exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation,
poor fit) or damage.
NOTICE
Improper use and changes
Change in or loss of functionality as well as damage to the product
► Only use this product carefully and for its intended purpose.
► Do not make any improper changes to the product.
► Inform the patient.
The orthosis is delivered ready for trial fitting. No adaptation is required.

The strap on the orthosis is open and the fasteners are loosened.
1) Pull the orthosis over your foot (see Fig. 1) and tie it like a normal shoe
(see Fig. 2).
Optional: Use the quick fasteners (see Fig. 3).
2) Pass the outer end of the strap over the instep and pull it under the foot
from the inner (medial) side.
3) Fasten the outer end of the strap over the ankle on the outer (lateral)
side (see Fig. 4).
4) Pass the inner end of the strap over the instep and pull it under the foot
from the outer (lateral) side.
5) Fasten the inner end of the strap over the ankle on the inner (medial)
side (see Fig. 5).
6) If the physician has allowed weight-bearing on the foot:
Loosen the ends of the strap and re-tighten (see Fig. 6).
