4 Description and Function
The 743A23 Alignment Tool for ErgoArm Elbow Components is used for adjusting an ErgoArm to the interim socket
of the patient and for further alignment of the prosthesis in preparation for the lamination of the definitive above-
elbow socket. Wearing the finished interim socket during the rehabilitation phase helps the patient train his move-
ment sequences and so allows for a seamless change to the "real" prosthesis.
5 Range of Application
The 743A23 Alignment Tool for ErgoArm Elbow Components can be used for the 12K41, 12K42, 12K44 and 12K50
ErgoArm product family.
6 Preparatory Operations
Tear protective foil off double-sided adhesive tape only in the lower area.

Fix alignment aid to lamination ring by using the tape and the twist-lock tie.

Tighten twist-lock tie with pliers. Grab twist-lock tie with pliers and roll it over the twist-lock tie fastener. Cut off

protruding end.
7 Working with the Amputee
Fix the MYOBOCK electrodes with 13E135 electrode holder to interim socket.

Lift off the four protective foils.

Adjust ErgoArm to provisional socket. (Attention: The socket must be free of grease!)

Use Lasar measuring device to check symmetry on patient.

Additional fixation of ErgoArm with adhesive tape to achieve stability.

Mark alignment positions on interim socket.

Finish alignment with electronic components.

Check ergonometry and electronic functions.

Transfer resp. examination of position possible with 743A100=3 Alignment Apparatus.

8 Preparation and Fabrication of the Definitive Socket
Place lamination cover on lamination ring (Photo without electrode holes)

Mark hole positions on plaster cast.

Remove interim socket from cast

Place corrected model into vacuum forming device

Insulate plaster model with 99B25 Sock

Form definitve socket with 616T53 Thermolin.soft

9 Working on the Definitive Inner Socket
Grind off the material covering the 13E127 casting dummy

Remove dummy with screw and pliers

Insert 13E128 casting dummy and cover definitive socket with 99B71 PVC-Plastic sheeting

Coat lamination cover with 633F11 Silicone Grease

Place alignment aid on marked positions on the definitive socket

10 Fabricating the Foam Core for the Outer Socket
Foam cover with space for twist-lock tie.

Place foam cover on lamination ring. The foam cover must be flush with the lamination ring.

Attach 627B5=19 Foam Adhesive Tape on to definitive socket

Wrap 616T3=1 Trolen Sheeting conically around definitive socket and secure with adhesive tape. Shape Trolen

cone so that you can fill in the Pedilen Rigid Foam 200.
Let Pedilen Rigid Foam climb up to 3/4. Then place model horizontally and leave it to cure to rule out cavities.

After curing pull off Pedilen sheeting

Pull foam from socket
