DEVICE AND INDICATION FOR USE
• CHIROBLOC [CBP, CBM and CHIRO3]
CHIROBLOC, a reusable malleable silicone hand, is
designed to hold the patient's hand in the desired position
during an orthopedic surgery. CBM is intended to be used
on adult size hands, CBP is intended to be used on children
size hands, CHIRO3 can be used on all size of hands.
CHIROBLOC is compatible with MRI (Magnetic Resonance
Imaging).
• CHIROBLOC Ballast [CBL]
CHIROBLOC Ballast is a reusable stainless-steel accessory
which allows to ballast the assembly in order to stabilise
CHIROBLOC in the desired position.
• RING
RING is a reusable silicon component of CHIRO3
designed to be used as an elastic finger fixation. RING can
be also used as an accessory with all CHIROBLOC range
for the same function.
These devices have been designed to facilitate hand surgery.
These devices which are supplied non-sterile must undergo
an automatic cleaning step followed by a steam sterilization
step before use.
- Do not use the instrument when it comes out of the ster-
ilization cycle and is still warm : there is a risk of premature
wear.
- CHIROBLOC must be completely unfolded and well
flattened before cleaning and sterilization otherwise its
lifetime will be divided by .
- Do not let humidity remain on the CHIROBLOC
Ballast's laser marking. Otherwise, if a brownish spot
appears, rub it away vigorously with a soft cloth.
- Do not store near corrosive products (ex: chlorine).
- Do not use the instruments if they are damaged. Example:
If a defect is found in the CHIROBLOC's plugs, it is non-
compliant and no longer usable.
- Do not clamp RING with a metal instrument, this can
make small cuts in the silicone that may cause failure later
on.
- Failure to follow good practices for the cleaning and ster-
ilization of surgical instruments may lead to infections or
device malfunction.
- Do not use CHIROBLOC and its accessories for any use
other than those defined by the manufacturer.
LIMITATIONS ON REPROCESSING
The instruments can be reused, however, their lifespan is
limited. The lifespan of CHIROBLOC and its accessories
depends on the individual use (wear, damage).
