5.3- Orientations about discharge flow

Basically, there are two ways to control the wagon frontal unloading flow:
1- Varying the PTO speed which controls the speed of the conveying chain.
2- Varying the tractor moving speed.
For example, if the conveyor speed is much high in relation to the auger speed, there can be
material building up in the outlet nozzle as well as irregular distribution. In this case, you
should reduce the conveyor speed, reducing the TDP rotation.
In case the conveyor speed is much low in relation to the auger speed, there will be lack of
material in the outlet nozzle. In this case, increase the PTO speed, speeding up the conveyor
speed.
The tractor speed must be compatible with the unloading flow. To dispose more forage in the
trough, reduce the tractor's speed and vice-versa, but always keep a proper PTO speed.
Check whether your tractor has a table and/or a graphic scale, letting know the moving speed
for several rotations in each gear, as the one illustrated below. It is an aid when carrying out
frontal unloading.
Important:
Never work with the TDP speed over 540 rpm!
