Do not bend or twist the coded band
During the first travel after installing the coded band, make sure that
the sensor is mounted so that it can move, to allow the pretensioned
coded band to align it as far as possible itself in an optimal position
with respect to the coded band. A deflection of the coded band due to
the sensor is not allowed.
This adjustment must result in a straight, pressure-free, smooth
movement of the coded band through the two slides, without twisting
the coded band.
Do not bend or lever the locking element
Only loosen the fastening screw of the locking element enough to be
able to slide the element and pull out the external slide (up to 5
threads).
Do not try to bend the locking element or use a lever to take it out of
the screwed connection.
The perfect fastening of the two slides guarantees the exact guiding
of the coded band. Otherwise, shorter maintenance cycles or even
malfunctions must be reckoned with.
Sensor position
Take care to the proper position, which depends on the already
mounted coded band and is determined by the three mounting pos-
sibilities in respective 90° steps.
To perform the adjustment of the sensor, do not tighten the sensor
car fastening screw, nor the screws holding the fastening plate on the
car roof.
Inserting the coded band
Before putting the second slide in place and fastening the locking ele-
ment, imperatively check the proper position of the coded band in the
sensor in compliance with the type plate.
Also check the proper position and guiding of the coded tape in the
two slides before sliding the locking element over both slides and se-
curing it with the screw.
The locking element may not show any trace of bending or breakage.
In this case, it must be replaced immediately.
Parallel alignment of coded band and sensor
Use the screw connection of the car fastening plate to make sure that
the sensor cannot tip over because of the car movements. A parallel
run of the sensor with respect to the coded tape must be guaranteed
in order to prevent excessive wear of the slides or even the swinging
up of the coded band.
